‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed’s son insists he’s ‘nothing like’ his dad after debut win

‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed’s son enjoyed a winning debut at Misfits 17 – but he wants everyone to know he’s nothing like his famous father.

Sami Hamed squared off against influencer Jesse Clarke on KSI‘s latest boxing card, which took place at the 3Arena in Dublin on Saturday night.

Hamed bossed the bout from the opening bell and it quickly became clear that his opponent would have a tough time making it the 12-minute distance.

The 26-year-old son of one of Britain’s biggest boxing legends connected with a clean left hook before looking to finish the fight with a barrage of punches.

Clarke did well to stay upright, especially when Hamed connected with two more monstrous punches to further prove he was a level above the TikTok and Instagram star.

Amazingly, Clarke managed to survive the round, but it was more of the same in the second stanza, and it wasn’t long before his team had seen enough.

Hamed couldn’t miss with his right hand, and it ultimately forced Clarke’s trainer to throw in the towel – even though he wanted to continue fighting.

Boxing fans watching along got carried away on social media.

One person tweeted: “It felt like watching Prince Naseem fighting again.”

Another added: “He’s world-class and a star.”

A third person raved: “Can’t lie he’s special.”

Someone else predicted: “Future star.”

Hamed used his post-fight interview to ease expectations as he insisted that he didn’t want to emulate his famous father by becoming a boxing world champion.

“My dad was a legend but I’m nothing like what he is and the sooner the fans realise that the better,” Hamed said.

“I’m so happy to be here and so happy to kick off my career by knocking out a bum like Jesse.

“I didn’t do much boxing tonight but he’s an awkward opponent.

Sami isn't the only young Hamed in boxing

“I beat that boy like he stole something.”

Hamed’s other son, Aadam, is a 2-0 boxing prospect signed to Frank Warren’s promotion.

Sami says he’s happy fighting celebrities as boxing is ‘in my DNA’.

Ultimately, he’s hoping to realise his childhood dream by becoming a famous actor.

“I wanted to be an actor when I was like 12 years old, all the way to like 15, 16,” Sami told SunSport. ” My heart was set, I really wanted to be on the big screen.

“I still feel like I’ve got the potential to do that. I could do a couple of years in boxing and even if I carry on fighting but maybe go to Hollywood and chase my dream in that sense.”
