Burns vs Brady LIVE: UK start time, undercard and how to follow UFC Fight Night

Former UFC Welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burns returns to action against rising star Sean Brady this evening in the build-up to UFC 306.

‘Durinho’ is hoping to snap a two-fight skid from inside the UFC Apex having not tasted victory in Dana White‘s promotion since April 2023.

Burns (22-7 MMA, 15-7 UFC) beat Jorge Masvidal at UFC 287 before suffering defeats against Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena.

The Brazilian has been nursing injuries since his TKO loss to the latter in March but remains the No.6 fighter in the UFC welterweight rankings.

Brady (16-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) is two spots below him in the 170-pound class but is coming off a dominant win over Kelvin Gastelum in December.

This event will serve as the warm-up act to UFC 306 at the Sphere where Sean O’Malley will defend his bantamweight title against Merab Dvalishvili.

UFC Fight Night 242: What has been said?

Burns has his sights firmly locked on achieving a knockout.

He said: “When they said Sean Brady, I said, let’s do it.

“I like it. I think he’s a tough opponent. He has good jiu jitsu too, one of the guys that has the best jiu jitsu in the division.

“He’s good, so let’s test and see who is better in the jiu jitsu. I’m excited. When I heard his name, I was like, this match is a good fight, not just for me, but for the fans and for the promotion.

“I envision knocking him out.

“I think we’re going to grapple a little bit, for sure. I think I might succeed on a takedown, he might succeed on a couple takedowns, but the fight is going to play out on the feet and whenever it connects, I might shut this guy out.”

But Brady has belief in himself and is confident of getting the better of Burns.

“I always had a hard time with confidence and believing in myself, and I knew once I believed in myself the way I do right now, I’ll be unstoppable.

“That’s how I looked against Kelvin (Gastelum), and that’s what I’m going to do against Gilbert. And then whoever comes after that and then whoever comes after that.”
