My friend sent me this photo of what she wants to wear to my wedding. I am FURIOUS

A bride to-be was left ‘furious’ after her friend chose an outfit for her upcoming wedding that was ‘too similar’ to her own.

The woman, from the US, specified a dress code ahead of her big day, requesting female guests don ‘cocktail attire’ such as dresses, elegant skirts or dressy jumpsuits.

But when a friend texted a picture of the look she wanted to wear, the shocked bride shot her down and said it resembled her white gown.

The guest chose a black top over a soft flowing, full length gold skirt featuring a tiny black polka dot design that she thought fitted the code, but the bride didn’t agree.

‘I told her it looked very similar to the colour of my wedding dress,’ the American said on Reddit. ‘She said “well your dress isn’t polka dot, now is it?”

‘Am I the crazy Bridezilla here?’ the woman asked online.

Hundreds of people were quick to call out the original poster, with everyone unanimously agreeing that the two outfits were completely different.

‘That looks nothing like your dress, I thought the issue was going to be that her outfit was too casual for your dress code if she was pairing it with that top,’ one said.

The woman, who many accused of being a 'bridezilla', had also sent guests a dress code ahead of her nupitals

Hundreds of people slammed the bride for being too ‘nit picky’, and said the two outfits were nothing alike

‘That skirt doesn’t look remotely bridal to me – it looks yellow or light gold, regardless I don’t think anyone is going to confuse her with the bride,’ another added.

Many agreed that the woman was being ‘nit picky’ about her guests’ attire, especially given that she had already specified a dress code.

‘You, wear fall colours. Also you, no, not like that,’ one said.

‘I think you’d be veering into bridezilla territory by quashing her outfit, you said elegant fall colours and she hit the nail on the head,’ another agreed.

Others said the the bride had her priorities all wrong.

‘Why not focus on the love of your life and your marriage rather than obsessing even more than your clothing announcement already does,’ one said.

People said they were tired of ‘controlling’ brides who fret about what their friends and family will wear to their wedding.

‘Your guests aren’t your dolls that you can dress up how you want, there’s nothing remotely bridal about this outfit, stop it,’ one said.

But one man argued that if the friend has sent the picture without being asked to, then it was fine for the bride to give her honest opinion.
