Jeopardy! fans are BAFFLED by contestant’s ‘unique buzzer stance’ as they question if he is in handcuffs
Jeopardy! viewers were left baffled by the unusual tactics deployed by contestant Will Weiss who kept his wrists crossed for the majority of the episode – prompting fans to jokingly question if he was wearing handcuffs.
The technical program manager from Islip, New York, maintained his ‘unique stance’ for much of Tuesday night’s show, only uncrossing them during conversations with host Ken Jennings.
Will’s ‘innovative’ game plan proved distracting for fans who set about working out why he chose to press the buzzer with crossed arms, with some urging him to ‘break those chains.’
‘Oh dear, Will’s in handcuffs,’ said one viewer on X, before adding: ‘Perhaps during the break, someone will find the key to Will’s handcuffs.’
Another observed: ‘Will has quite the unique buzzer stance tonight.’

A fourth noted: ‘Interesting buzzer hold, Will.’
On Reddit, one said: ‘I love when someone takes an innovative but smart approach to buzzing technique, and Will’s crossed wrists is a unique twist on Fritz Holznagel’s advice to provide support to your buzzing arm to prevent your whole arm from moving.’
Another replied: ‘Petition to call Will’s buzzer technique “Gangnam Style”.’
Will, who ended up winning with an impressive final score of $14,000, kept schtum about his approach to the buzzer, but he did reveal that he could have participated on the show two decades ago.
Speaking to host Ken, he said: ‘Twenty years ago, I qualified and was eligible to be on during the season when you were on your historic run.’
Ken asked: ‘So, were you waiting for that call, or were you hoping to not get that call?’
‘I was,’ Will replied. ‘And thinking about your run, would I have been competitive?

Viewers were divided on Will’s interesting position and flocked online to comment

Jeopardy! returned on Monday with season 41.
The show’s first episode left many fuming at the ‘awkward’ new categories that were introduced, which included ‘Parenting’ and ‘Mom & Dad’.
Elsewhere, axed Jeopardy! host Mayim Bialik hinted that she is keen to return to the series.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, she said: ‘I’m definitely still a fan of the show and very honored that I was nominated for an Emmy for my work there.
‘That is something that I got to change my bio, that I was nominated for Jeopardy!
‘So, yeah, it’s something I’m still very proud of. And yeah, we’ll see what happens this season.’
