Island Summer Splash Festival

Get ready! London’s newest and hottest one-day summer festival is coming.

Island Summer Splash is a celebration of afrobeat and dancehall culture, and it’s kicking off in the heart of Croydon’s Addington Park on Carnival weekend (Friday 26th August.)

Lose yourself in all your favourites from Afrobeats to Reggae, RnB to Bashment: Beanie Man, Burna Boy, Wizkid,  Summer Walker, Alkaline, Gyptian, and so much more.

The top-tier DJ lineup includes – DJ LARNIi (HIMNUHNORMAL), DJ TEESHOW (CAPITAL EXTRA), LOYAL SQUAD SOUND, DJ OV (BRUNCH NEXT DOOR), SUPA NYTRO (CARRIBEAN PARTY UK), DJ JUVEY (IQ OFFICIAL DJ), with more to be announced.

Dubbed as the “ultimate festival experience,” with a dazzling fusion of music and food, this is the place to be this summer!

Fairfield Halls

Throughout the summer, kids and grownups alike can enjoy all the laughs, tunes and performances that’ll light up this season.

Each Saturday (all year round), you can enjoy the latest family entertainment direct from Hollywood. Highlights include Clifford the Big Red Dog, Paw Patrol: The Movie, Coco and Scoob!

Get swept up in all the drama and romance of the unforgettable La bohème. Performed live by the exceptional ENO Chorus and Orchestra, you’ll be left with chills at this musical and theatrical treat.

Lastly, don’t miss The Drifters on their brand-new show-stopping tour where you can enjoy all their classic hits from the past sixty years.

Exciting Escapes

Find your cool and make a break from the heatwave this summer at Exciting Escapes, Croydon’s escape room!
Choose from five highly themed, fully immersive games (4 more are on their way!) that will challenge your senses, test your logic and place you right in the heart of the action.

Go head to head with your friends in one of their “paired room” games: the 1950s-based race against time, A Hidden Past. Or thwart a spy ring in the 1990s inspired Change the Record.

Horror fans will get a kick out of the creepy, secret government medical facility game, The Voices We Hear. Not only do you have to uncover its terrifying mysteries, but you need to make it out alive!

Do you think you can take on one of Exciting Escapes games and make it out before the clock strikes its final minute?

Centrale & Whitgift

Join in Centrale & Whitgift’s Summer of Fun and get stuck into weekly themed workshops and performances throughout the season. From BMX to Samba workshops on offer, there is plenty for the whole family to enjoy.

Why not check out the latest summer blockbuster or indie sensation at the brilliant multiplex, the Vue? Blow off some steam at the trampoline extravaganza, Flip Out. Or be dined and wined at one of the mouthwatering restaurants after you’ve had a spot of retail therapy!

Keep an eye out for the newly announced LOST project, which will soon be revealing all their exciting plans for the historic Allders building. Conceived by Secret Cinema’s creator, Fabien Riggall, the aim is to unite local and international artists together in a new sub-culture of performance!

The Ludoquist

Bursting with over 1,400 different board games, The Ludoquist is a haven for gamers and foodies alike.

Challenge your friends and family to a game of Catan. Cast out your enemies in the adrenaline-pumping King of Tokyo, or settle down for a thrilling ride and become a Dungeon & Dragons master for the afternoon.

Whether you immerse yourself in the world of myths and legends or would rather play one of the many well-loved classics on offer, this is the perfect place to have a battle showdown or a relaxed head-to-head!

Fancy a tipple? Check out The Ludoquist’s brilliant cocktail menu! They also offer delicious craft beer, beautiful hand-stretched stone-baked pizza and locally roasted coffee. Delish!

Matthews Yard Kids Cafe

Every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, Matthews Yard offers a fantastic soft play area for children to explore, while parents can sit back and relax (while supervising!) and enjoy a bit of normality and a sumptuous brunch!

During the rest of the week, Matthews Yard’s Platform 2 works as a multi-function events space, is home to a fantastic vegan cafe and kitchen and regularly hosts rotating art exhibitions led by local artists.

If that’s not enough, they also offer a comfy lounge for you to challenge your friends to table tennis, various board games and an N64!

Heart of Gaming

If you’re feeling a bit nostalgic this summer, head on over to the Heart of Gaming. Dedicated to providing fun and games for the whole family, you’ll find all the retro consoles of your childhood to the latest groundbreaking consoles.

Enjoy classic games on Megadrive, SNES and N64 or grapple with the newer kids on the block with PS4 and Nintendo Switch!

Situated on Croydon’s busy high street, the Heart of Gaming is a perfect addition to a great day out. What’s more, you won’t struggle to find a decent bite to eat in one of the nearby cafes and restaurants to complete your day.
