A maskless Hugo Weaving is spotted on the set of his upcoming TV show Love Me amid lockdown in Melbourne


Hugo Weaving was all smiles when he was spotted on the Melbourne set of his upcoming TV show, Love Me, on Tuesday.

The 61-year-old actor appeared without a face mask, as he happily mingled with the show’s cast and crew in between takes.

At one stage, The Matrix star warmly embraced his co-star, Heidi Arena, pulling in her for a tight hug.

The two actors chatted intimately as they caught up in between takes, with Hugo gesturing towards something in the distance.

He also spoke to several crew members, who all wore face masks amid Melbourne’s ongoing COVID lockdown.

The affable star was seen patting one female crew member affectionately on the shoulder as they conversed.

He spoke to another female crew member in a black and white striped jumper as they stood outside a production tent.

Eventually, Hugo got into a car and was ferried from the show’s set to his trailer nearby.

It was announced last month that Hugo was set to star in the six-part romantic drama series.

The series will explore love as experienced within a family, with each member at a different stage of their life.

It’s adapted from the Swedish series Älska Mig, which was created by Josephine Bornebusch, with the Australian version directed by Emma Freeman.

In addition to Hugo and Heidi, the upcoming series will also star Celia Pacquola, Bojana Novakovic, Bob Morley and Heather Mitchell.

The series is being produced for Australian streaming platform BINGE, in conjunction with Screen Australia.
