Sad: Alison Hammond, 46, appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday to discuss her autobiography where she recalled a moment in her 20s where she witnessed a car accident
Alison recalled: ‘I went to a wedding and on the way home – I don’t drink, I’ll have a cocktail once in a while – but I hadn’t been drinking at this and it was in the middle of the night. There was a car upside down and the car had just crashed and I was the first on the scene.
‘There was a guy on the side of the road crying and then I went to the car and there was a guy I couldn’t get to and there was petrol everywhere. There was no mobile phones back then. I tried to get him out of the seat but the other guy was like “leave him, you could paralyse him.”
‘Next day, I read in the newspaper that those two young guys had died. They were only 18. One of them had stolen their dad’s car and they just died like that. In life, you’ve just got to grab it.’

Earlier in the show, Alison also detailed how she had never wanted to get into showbusiness, but her mother kickstarted her TV career when she got her into a film.
The Big Brother contestant revealed that her mum landed both Alison and her brother role as extras in a movie where she and her brother had to play dead.
She said: ‘I never really wanted to get into showbiz but my mum was obsessed with it. She got us into a film, me and my brother, we were in a film where we had to play dead in Artemis 81 alongside Sting. I was six years old.’
Having a life-is-too-short mentality even at that young age, she said: ‘You have these opportunities come along and you’ve just got to grab it with both hands. Let’s just go for it and then think about it after.’
Alison’s appearance on Good Morning Britain came ahead of hosting an episode of This Morning.
During her time on the show, Alison had a conversation with a man who is addicted to tan and has admitted he wants to look black.
She asked him in her signature outgoing way: ‘Do you wanna look black like me babes?’ to which he responded: ‘Yeah I do babes.’
He went on: ‘Some people won’t leave the house without makeup, I won’t leave the house without a tan.’
Shocking: Later, while presenting This Morning, Alison had a conversation with a man who is addicted to tan who admitted to wanting to look black
Tan lover Jimmy uses extra dark fake tan, and also uses injections to make himself darker.
He buys the jabs online, which sparked concern from Alison and Doctor Sara who said: ‘These injections are illegal in the UK. We don’t know what the potential side effects could be to your body. Because they are unregulated, we don’t know what else is in them besides what’s advertised.’
He spends £1000 a month on becoming bronzed and has been doing it since he was 15-years-old.
