A podcast exploring the world of Australian influencers has discovered one online celebrity has gained plenty of clout from her rigid pro-vaccine stance.
Former Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield has gained more than 16,000 new followers since she began sharing her pro-vaccine takes on Instagram, according to Amy, Sophie & Kate Taeuber’s Outspoken podcast.
Meanwhile, popular influencer Chloe Szepanowski shed more than 6000 fans in the same period after sharing a post in support of the anti-lockdown Freedom Rally protest.

On the podcast, Kate revealed to her sisters that she had recently unfollowed celebrities who shared dangerous anti-vaccination messages with their followers.
Citing research from the social media analytics site Social Blade, Kate said she realised one of the influencers she followed, Chloe, had actually lost quite a few fans.
‘Over the last 30 days, she has actually lost over 6000 followers,’ the journalist said.
However, her YouTuber partner Mitchell Orval had only lost about 60 over the same period.

Both have posted anti-lockdown messages on their pages despite a lack of any medical qualifications, and also follow anti-vaxxer accounts.
However, Chloe and Mitch have both stated that they’re not anti-vaxxers in the past.
The Outspoken hosts, who are identical triplets, were excited to announce that reality TV star Chatfield had benefitted from her pro-science stance.
‘In some more positive news, Abbie Chatfield has gained 16,290 followers in the last 30 days,’ Kate said.

The boost in influence comes after Chatfield urged her fellow influencers to encourage their followers to get the Covid-19 vaccine.
The 26-year-old shared a video to her Instagram this week, urging social media personalities to speak out about the vaccine.
‘To my fellow influencers who follow me… I’ve gotten so many direct messages from people who have said they’ve gotten the vaccine because they have seen me speak about it and they’ve felt better about getting AstraZeneca,’ she said.

‘So I think if you have a platform right now and you feel like doing something good, you could speak about the vaccine if you feel you want to,’ she added.
She continued: ‘The anti-vaxxers are unwell so no pressure but if you’ve been unsure, it genuinely may get at least one more person vaccinated.’

In a series of videos uploaded to Instagram chronicling her vaccination journey, Abbie joked she looked ‘hotter’ after receiving the jab.
‘Got the vaccine. I look, like, I actually look hotter. Like, I actually look hotter…’ she began in a video, filmed in her car after leaving the vaccination clinic.
She took a swipe at anti-vaxxers by adding: ‘I will keep you updated on how I feel afterwards and also how the 5G is in my house and in my phone, which I’m excited about.

‘I’ll let you know if I feel closer to Bill Gates. I’ll let you know if the government controls my mind. We’ll see how it goes.’
Abbie also shared a video of herself confidently striding down the street set to Donna Summer’s disco hit Hot Stuff.
‘Already feeling hotter after getting AZ,’ she captioned the video.
