Bachelor In Paradise star Jake Ellis lives through his first Christmas without his parents

Former Bachelor In Paradise hunk Jake Ellis and his brother, Luke, have marked their first Christmas without their parents.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, the reality TV star commemorated the ‘impossibly hard day’ in a post honouring their late mother, Robyn, and late father, Brian.

‘It’s only you and I now bro,’ the 34-year-old began the heartbreaking caption.

‘First Christmas without both Mum and Dad, impossibly hard day for us both but I’d be lost without you, lucky to call you my brother,’ he said of Luke.

‘Merry Christmas everyone, cherish what you have,’ Jake ended the emotional post.

In two pictures, Jake and brother Luke embraced each other with arms slung around shoulders, and by holding hands as a sign of solidarity.

Their late father, who was believed to be aged in his seventies, passed away in July after several years of declining health.

He was laid to rest by his sons earlier this month, by having his ashes spread in the same spot as their mother, Robyn, who died of breast cancer in January 2018.

‘Spreading Dad’s Ashes at the same spot as Mum. Their special place. They’re together and so are we,’ Jake wrote in a post on Instagram.

Brian had undergone a double lung transplant several years ago, could not drive due to poor eyesight and was living in a care facility.

Jake said his father had suffered from a ‘long list’ of health problems earlier this year, including skin cancer and vascular dementia.

He announced his father’s death in an Instagram post on July 31.

‘At 8:15pm last night we sadly lost our amazing dad, Brian. Our hearts are broken yet again but are trying to take solace in that he is no longer fighting or in any pain,’ he wrote.

‘My brother Luke, myself and loved ones have been by his side during this devastating time, sharing memories of the beautiful man, father and husband that he was. He lived an amazing life, loved by so many.’

Jake’s family tragedy came two years after his mother, Robyn, died of breast cancer.

She had fought the disease for 25 years, after first being diagnosed when Jake was just six years old.
