Bachelor Jimmy Nicholson is ‘disappointed’ watching the show back

The Bachelor’s Jimmy Nicholson admits he’s ‘disappointed’ watching the show back amid rumours that it will soon be cancelled after tanking in the ratings

The Bachelor is currently suffering from abysmal ratings, with rumours swirling that it may be cancelled soon.

And now Jimmy Nicholson has admitted that he’s been disappointed watching the series back after seeing some of the behaviour from the women in the mansion.

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, the pilot singled out villain Stephanie Lynch’s C-bomb scandal as something that shocked him upon seeing the show.

‘Now I’ve seen everything that everyone’s said, and I think it’s important to realise that I didn’t know any of this kind of stuff,’ he said.

‘If that’s the way you’re acting on national television when you’re supposed to be a little bit more polished and wary of your audience, then how are you going to act outside of it?’

Jimmy also said that it isn’t just Steph that’s shocked him, but many of the women in the mansion.

‘If I had known that, I definitely would have changed my narrative on the show,’ he said.

Online bookmakers Sportsbet has opened a market on the future of The Bachelor, after the latest season starring Jimmy flopped in the ratings.

The gambling company is taking bets on how Channel 10 will respond to the dismal audience figures, with one possibility being it’s cancelled before the finale and another predicting it will be shunted to streaming platform 10Play.

While the odds for all outcomes are long, the fact Sportsbet is accepting bets at all is a telling sign the show could be in trouble, given the history of bookies having insider knowledge when it comes to reality TV shows.

The market has four options, the first of which is: ‘Show to be moved to 10Play (instead of Channel 10) before final episode airs.’

This is the most likely option as of Thursday with odds of $34.

The second, with odds of $51, is: ‘Show to be cancelled before final episode airs.’

The Bachelor had its lowest-ever premiere ratings last month, with just 482,000 metro viewers tuning in for pilot Jimmy’s first episode.

This number collapsed to a new record low of 360,000 a week later, following the start of the Tokyo Olympics on Seven.
