Bachelor star cleverly uses ‘Byron bubble’ to host 30th birthday celebrations with interstate friends

It’s her birthday, and she’ll party if she wants to.

Bachelor babe Noni Janur certainly wasn’t willing to let the coronavirus pandemic dampen her milestone 30th celebrations this month.

The 2016 reality TV star cleverly used Byron Bay’s ‘border bubble’ to host a get-together that her interstate friends and family could easily attend.

From October 1, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk extended the Queensland-New South Wales border bubble to Byron Bay, Lismore, Richmond Valley, Glen Innes and Ballina.

Queenslander are free to cross the border after securing a Border Declaration Pass through the Queensland Government website and agreeing to only travel to the approved areas of NSW that are included in the ‘border bubble’.

Making the most of the exemptions, Noni decided to meet her friends and relatives within the coastal town of Byron Bay.

‘I’m sad that I’m unable to cross the QLD border to see my friends and fam for my birthday later on this month, but I’m grateful that I was able to meet them half way for an early birthday celebration,’ she said.

‘Thank you to everyone that made my weekend so special,’ Noni added.

The Byron Bay ‘border bubble’ is also an enticing way to avoid a 14-day hotel quarantine when travelling to Queensland from New South Wales.

Thanks to Queensland’s newly-revised border rules, New South Wales holidaymakers can instead spend at least two weeks in a ‘low-risk’ part of New South Wales – including Byron Bay – before being allowed to travel freely into Queensland.

Celebrities such as The Veronicas’ Lisa and Jessica Origliasso are making full use of the border ‘bubble’ – with the pop stars currently at the tail end of their 14-day stay in Byron Bay ahead of returning to their native Brisbane.

Meanwhile, residents from all states except South Australia, Victoria, and some New South Wales hot-spots, are allowed into Queensland without quarantining.

Byron Bay has become a somewhat of a celebrity sanctuary since the beginning of the pandemic, thanks to its low COVID-19 case numbers, sparkling beaches and trendy eateries.

American actor Zac Efron notably spent months hunkering down in Byron Bay after secretly relocating Down Under earlier this year.
