The presenter, 54, appeared on the breakfast show alongside Ben Shephard having just returned from a holiday in Cornwall, however she was left dismayed when a technical glitch occurred and she forgot the name of a guest.
Ever the optimist, Kate saw the funny side when an interview with James Brolin went wrong while she also confessed that had scratched a Peugeot she had been lent to drive to Cornwall – yet promised the car manufacturer she would sort the issue.

Following the appearance, she was later seen headed to work at Smooth Radio where she put on a dazzling display in a plunging gingham dress and certainly seemed to have seen the funny side as she beamed.
The dress had puffed sleeves and flattered her figure with a wraparound shape as she entered the London radio station. Completing the look, she opted for on-trend white cowboy boots and classic hooped earrings.
Earlier in the day, she spoke to Ben about her trip to Cornwall, which she had previously told followers involved Peugeot lending her a car.
She explained: ‘Peugeot lent me a car to get down to Cornwall with the family. I was so careful. I was like a paranoid beast and my dad is with me and you know what my dad is like Ben…

‘Anyway I think something happened in the car park as it looks like a cat as done that on it’, Ben then asked: ‘What a cat scratched your car?’
Distressed Kate then went on: ‘Anyway, something has happened to it. So I apologise for that. It was a brilliant car. I will sort it out I promise.’
Next up was their chat with James about his new Netflix show Sweet Tooth, about a post-apocalyptic world where hybrid children have emerged due to a virus, with the interview plagued with technical difficulties.
Once the talk began, his screen started flashing various colours and Kate said: ‘I think we lost him?, while Ben said: ‘It’s like he powered down!’

The final of the series of funny events was when the pair spoke to BBQ chef Christian Stevenson – who Kate accidentally called ‘Daniel’.
Her latest appearance comes as she revealed that her ex co-presenter Piers Morgan went into ‘Churchillian rallying mode’ to support her husband’s Covid battle.
It has been a difficult year for Kate with Derek, 53, being hospitalised for 12 months after contracting Covid and the former lobbyist now being cared for at home.

In March 2020, Kate’s husband Derek tested positive for coronavirus, which left him with clots in his lungs, holes in his heart and diabetes.

His symptoms were so severe he had to be placed in an induced coma for months, and finally returned home in April after spending a year in hospital, but still has a long way to go in his recovery.
Last month, Kate gave an update on her husband Derek’s health, saying he ‘can’t really move’ and still has minimal communication.
And adding to an already difficult year, on Thursday Kate revealed that her mum had been rushed to hospital after breaking her foot during a stroll on the beach.
She shared the news on social media and added that her mum was now recovering at home as she thanked NHS staff for taking such good care of her.
