They are renovating the biggest house on The Block this year.

But Kirsty Lee Akers and Jesse Anderson could be set for heartbreak as they may have to sell their own ‘dream home’ if they’re not successful on auction day.

‘If we walk away with nothing it will be devastating and yes, we will probably have to sell our home,’ Kristy told Woman’s Day.

‘You go into it hoping you’re going to win a life-changing opportunity but there are no guarantees and there have been contestants in the past who have walked away with virtually nothing,’ she explained.

‘If that happens I don’t know what we will do,’ Kristy said.

It comes after Kristy and Jesse scored a perfect ten during Hell Week, with the judges exclaiming that they’d made it into ‘heaven week’.

Last week, the pair renovated a bathroom, hallway and laundry despite leaving for 24 hours after the death of Kristy’s grandmother – with the show giving her a dedication at the end of the episode.

The judges said there was ‘no sense of panic’ in the serene, renovated spaces, which didn’t looked rushed even though Kristy and Jesse had less time.

The couple were delighted to have beaten even the All Star contestants with their perfect score.

For their efforts, they received $10,000, making them a formidable team for the others to compete with.

Earlier in the week, Kristy had received devastating news her beloved grandmother had passed away.

‘As soon as Mum’s name flashed on the [phone] screen, I just knew [Nan had died],’ Kirsty told 9Now.

Kirsty said the couple didn’t ‘even realise what’s happening in the outside world’ during their time on the high pressure reality TV show.
