Brooke Shields isn’t letting the pandemic slow down her workout routine.
On Wednesday, the 55-year-old actress posted a video to her Instagram account depicting her undergoing a virtual fitness routine that she had developed with her personal trainer Ngo Okafor.
The actress has been very vocal about keeping an active lifestyle even in the midst of COVID-19 lockdowns, and the video was meant to encourage her followers to do the same.

The Endless Love actress was seen wearing a black athletic top with a matching set of leggings and running shoes; she also wore a wide-rimmed set of eyeglasses and a number of bracelets and necklaces during her workout.
Okafor opted for a red Nike tank top, and black leggings to show off his chiseled physique; the 45-year-old also wore a pair of athletic trainers for the length of the session.
At the beginning of the video, Shields had a little bit of trouble connecting to her trainer, and after the feed was established, she jokingly noted how she asked her children to leave the room before they began.
Okafor then announced that the two would be doing a lower body, abs, and cardio workout, and mentioned that the first exercise would be a set of squats using a chair to improve her form, which he guided her through.

They then moved on to lunges and single leg raises before moving onto the cardio portion of their workout, where the actress noted that the exercises were akin to something she would have done in the 1980s with Jane Fonda.
Afterwards, Shields began a planking routine, and was initially concerned that Okafor would not be able to see what she was doing given her prone position, but he reassured her that he knew what she was doing.
The actress then repeated her workout step by step, and she remarked that, ‘one minute of cardio feels like an hour.’
On the second round of planking, the Mr. Pickles voice actress readjusted the camera in order for her fans to see exactly what she was doing while Okafor timed her for; she mentioned that she had once held the position for three minutes.

Shields and Okafor then spoke about the changes in lifestyle that COVID had brought upon them, and she stated that, ‘I was getting smaller…I was making myself wound in a little ball.’
The personal trainer encouraged her to not give up on trying to better herself during this period, and noted that the pandemic was only temporary, opining that; ‘this is going to end…every day, just do something that makes you happy.’
She then spoke about the different aspects of her career, including where she found her niche in the entertainment business and adapting to various styles of acting.
Okafor and Shields then signed off and noted that they would be broadcasting their routine next week and invited her followers to check out their next workout video.
