Catfish star Nev Schulman’s wife Laura Perlongo reveals she suffered a miscarriage

Catfish alum Nev Schulman’s wife, Laura Perlongo, took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal that she suffered a miscarriage.

The 37-year-old mom-of-three shared a lengthy post about her ‘manicure’ using her nails to allude to the loss of her child. She also shared a photo of a positive pregnancy test. 

The grieving mom captioned her post: ‘Damn this manicure’s been through a lot. About to change it, the manicure that is, n feeling a lil sad to see her go. Maybe that’s obvious, maybe not.’ 

For her Instagram slideshow, she included several photos and videos of her kids, a mirror selfie showing off her stomach, and others, all while sporting the same manicure.

Laura went on to talk about how she wasn’t planning on sharing any news of the pregnancy until 14 weeks, but that would’ve had a ‘different spin.’

She went on to say: ‘No need for sympathy or anything, just didn’t wanna change the nails on this one without saying a word even though that’s the expectation I suppose.

‘But it’s all so intense and real or maybe it’s delicate and fleeting. The gain. The loss. It’s all the things.’

Later on in her post she voiced her support for all of the women who have suffered a miscarriage before.

‘And if it’s happened to you too, I’m just sayin it happens a lot. I’m just sayin I LOVED THIS GD MANICURE. And the all too real fantasy of what coulda been.’

The lifestyle writer has been married to the Catfish host, 38, since 2017, after they met in 2015 through Instagram DMs.

The duo tied the knot nine months after welcoming their eldest child, Cleo, six. Since then, they have welcomed two more children, Beau, four, and Cy, one.

After meeting on Instagram, Nev decided to ask Laura to dinner. Laura told US Weekly in 2018 that she was nervous.

‘It was the first time I was picked up by a stranger on a motorcycle. I was a little nervous to be honest. I was like, “Are we gonna die? Is this worth dying?”‘

The pair ended up breaking up at one point in their relationship due to Nev being ‘too in love’ with Laura.

Nev said: ‘I just got out of a thing, and I had been damaged by that, and I felt that maybe I was all messed up, and I wasn’t ready. I screwed it up and then I had to win her back.’

Laura added, ‘I don’t think I officially took him back until we got pregnant.’
