Lauren sat behind Chris on the hospital bed while cradling their baby, who was snoozing peacefully in her arms.

She typed on her phone but looked over to the camera and gave a brief, soft smile.

‘Spent the night in the hospital,’ Chris captioned his video. ‘If you pray, Dutty Buddy needs some prayer!’ he wrote, along with a praying hands emoji.

Despite the call for prayers, the singer–songwriter didn’t mention what health issues had sen his son to the hospital, or how serious his condition was.

Chris and Lauren began their relationship back in 2018, two years after her Bachelor season aired.

At the time, the flight attendant emerged triumphant and got engaged to star Ben Higgins, and the two appeared together on the spin-off reality series Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After?, which aired on Freeform.

However, the two announced their separation in the summer of 2017.

Chris and Lauren were later engaged in the summer of 2019 and tied the knot in October.

In December of last year, the couple announced they were expecting their first child.

Shortly after baby Dutton was born, Chris shared with People that his son inspired him to write a new song.

‘I’ve been waiting to meet Dutton for nine months now, and the easiest way for me personally to describe my feelings and emotions is to write about it! So naturally, I wrote a song,’ he shared. ‘It’s called Ain’t Even Met You Yet and sums up how I’ve been feeling over the last few months. I can’t wait to share it with him one day.’

The singer also joked that he was shocked how big his son ended up being.

‘Everyone in the room, including Lauren and me, were shocked we had a nine-pound baby! Not sure where he was hiding in her belly?!’ he joked.

‘Watching Lauren go through the birthing process — from the beginning to the moment she delivered — was the most incredible thing I’ve ever witnessed. I experienced an emotion I’ve never felt before,’ he added more seriously.
