Colin is currently awaiting the release of the upcoming superhero-centric film The Batman, which is set to be made available to the public in the near future.

Development on the blockbuster began in 2014, when it was announced that Ben Affleck would write, star, direct and produce a film centered on the character.

The project was originally set to follow the character as he became embroiled in an increasingly deadly conflict with the supervillain Deathstroke.

However, the Argo star later vacated the director’s chair in 2017 while still remaining on as the flick’s star.

After numerous other filmmakers were looked at to direct the feature, Matt Reeves signed on to helm the film that same year.

Affleck went on to exit the project entirely in 2019, citing a need to focus on his personal issues.

Numerous actors were considered for the titular character’s role, and Robert Pattinson was cast in May of that year.

Several performers who were added to the feature’s lineup during the time period included Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano and Jeffrey Wright, among others.

Farrell was confirmed to have joined the project in November of 2019, and he is set to play Oswald Cobblepot, also known as The Penguin.

Filming initially commenced in January of 2020, although production was quickly shut down due to the onset of the global pandemic.

Shooting later resumed, although the cast and crew were beset by various COVID-19 related complications before they wrapped this past March.

The Batman is currently set to be made available to the public on March 4th, 2022.

A spinoff series centered on The Penguin was previously announced to have been in development, although Farrell has not confirmed if he will appear in the program.
