He said: ‘When I’m watching with my mum, you can tell that she’s proud, but it’s funny because she does hate Corey.’

Although he is best known in Coronation Street for playing the role of Corey Brent, Maximus revealed that this isn’t his first time on the cobbles.
He said that he worked as an extra on the show back when he was just 11-years-old.
Displays of anger: The teenage soap star said that he has been screamed at in the street before because of the impact of his Coronation Street character
Reminiscing, Maximus said: ‘I remember going on a minibus with all the other extras to a theatre. Roy had taken Hayley there as a treat. I had a big foam finger and I was running around the theatre waving it.’
When Maximus was seven, his father Dave died from oesophagus cancer, aged just 41, and the Corrie star believes his dad would be pleased he has found happiness.
He added: ‘Losing my dad maybe influenced my behaviour without me even knowing. I’m still trying to figure out who I am and the lad I used to be.’
Maximus, from Cheadle Hulme in Greater Manchester, grew up with his mother Debbie, 50, who works as a teacher, and his two brothers.

His character then caused further tension by turning up to attend Seb’s funeral, which only angers several characters as they follow behind the hearse.
This resulted in him being turned away and told to stay away from proceedings.
The aftermath of Seb’s death sees Nina, who survived the gang attack, turning to alcohol as she plots revenge on Corey and his potential murder.
Knowing full well that Corey was responsible for Seb’s death, Nina will also attempt to put an end to his dreams of being a professional footballer by confronting him.
Soap villain: Coronation Street fans have recently watched Maximus’ Corey Brent take part in a gang attack which resulted in the murder of Seb Franklin
It comes after fellow Corrie star Millie Gibson last month said she was left ‘a blubbering mess’ over Nina Lucas’ hate crime attack as she and her co-stars discussed the soap storyline.
Speaking to The Mirror on Thursday, the actress, 16, who plays Kelly Neelan spoke about Wednesday’s episode, which saw Nina and her boyfriend Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) get attacked by a gang of thugs who shout abuse about her goth identity.
The storyline has many similarities to what happened to Sophie Lancaster, who was murdered in a Lancashire park in 2007, and the soap has worked with a foundation set up by the late 20-year-old’s mother Dr Sylvia Lancaster OBE.
Upset: Coronation Street’s Millie Gibson said last month that she was left ‘a blubbering mess’ when she read the plot for Nina Lucas’ hate crime attack – based on the Sophie Lancaster case
Reflecting on when she read the script, Millie admitted: ‘I was just a blubbering mess. We knew we had to make this an amazing educational storyline.
‘Because it is based on true stories of hate crime, bringing it to a soap it is critical to get it right.’
Harriet Bibby, 22, who plays Summer Spellman on the soap, also spoke about the horrific plot, admitting: ‘I think it will make people think, “how would I have reacted in that situation? Would I have done what Asha did or what Kelly did?”
‘It will make you think what is right or wrong in that situation.’
