Kimberly Hart-Simpson has split from her Celebs Go Dating co-star Shane Finlayson after six-month whirlwind romance.
The Coronation Street actress, 34, took to her Instagram stories on Thursday to announce the news in a statement, saying their busy work schedules led to the split.
Kimberly, who played escort Nicky Wheatley on the soap, met Shane on the E4 show, and went Instagram official with him in February.

Her statement read: ‘After 6 months of dating Shane and I have decided to part ways. We are proud of our journey and respect each other immensely. The show has been the best experience.
‘Our journey after that even better but with the distance between us, work commitments and restrictions can naturally take its toll.’
Kimberly went on to thank fans for their support since the pair’s appearance on the dating show, and concluded: ‘Thank you for the love you have given us, it has not been wasted. XX’

During the final episode of the series, Kimberly and Shane had previously declared their love for each other.
The soap star recently spoke about her experience on Celebs Go Dating, referring to her time on the reality series as ‘incredible’, as she was able to find a lover.
Sharing a heartfelt post on social media, she wrote: ‘As the show comes to an end, I want to say this. It has been the most humbling and eye opening journey for me.

‘I have asked all my life for jobs where I get to pretend to be other people. And for once someone took me on to play myself.
‘I won’t lie, there were days I didn’t think I was ‘entertaining enough’, sleeping in a room full of people who are so established in an industry and honestly… I feel like a fraud. After all I found my TV career in a pandemic.
‘I have absolutely no experience in being a celebrity and even more not entirely sure what one is. But the show made me believe in myself.’

She went on: ‘For me, this was one of the best experiences of my life. I know how fortunate I am in this moment.

Kimberly admitted she ‘fancies everybody’ and was looking forward to meeting a potential partner of any gender on the series.
Speaking The Mirror, she said: ‘I have dated people who are male, female, transgender… gender is completely irrelevant to me.
‘We’re all on different spectrums. There are many qualities about me I would deem just as much male as female.

Kimberly also revealed she used to change her Tinder profile to ‘both’ after having a few drinks.
At the time Kimberly, who was studying at drama school, struggled with her sexuality, and would wake up hoping no one had seen what she’d done.
But she explained that a gay friend helped her become more comfortable in her own skin, and the star was also bolstered by support from friends and family.
