Courteney Cox was greeted with a COVID-19-safe filming space on her first day at work on her new Starz TV series Shining Vale.

The 56-year-old actress took to her Instagram story on Wednesday to share a video from the set.

The half-hour comedy was created by Divorce creator Sharon Horgan and Trial & Error co-creator Jeff Astrof, though it’s unclear when the show will debut.

Cox was wearing a maroon sweater for her first day on the show, which didn’t exactly go as she planned.

‘It’s my first day at work on my new show Shining Vale, and I’m in a room completely by myself,’ Cox began.

She moved the camera to show that, ‘they put me behind this plastic barricade,’ showing that she’s sealed off from the rest of the cast.

‘Just like an animal. Feels great,’ Cox joked as she brought her brief video from the set to a close.

Starz issued a pilot order for Shining Vale back in August 2019, with Cox signing on to star last February.

Cox will portray the lead role of Patricia ‘Pat’ Phelps, the head of a dysfunctional family that moves from the city to a small town into a house in which terrible atrocities have taken place.

Pat has become convinced that she’s either ‘depressed or possessed’ which has exactly the same symptoms.

Pat is described as a ‘former wild child’ who became famous by, ‘writing a raunchy, drug-and-alcohol-soaked women’s empowerment novel (a.k.a. lady porn).’

17 years later, Pat is clean and sober, but she still hasn’t written her second novel, she can’t remember the last time she had sex with her husband and her kids hate her.
