Courtney Act slams Aussie Big Brother for casting Caitlyn Jenner

Drag queen Courtney Act says Caitlyn Jenner shouldn’t have a platform on Big Brother VIP as she slams the show’s controversial celebrity cast

She’s the Ru Paul’s Drag Race star who won the UK series of Celebrity Big Brother.

But on Tuesday, Courtney Act wasn’t hesitant to chat about her concerns over the upcoming Big Brother VIP cast.

Speaking to Gawndy and Maz, the 39-year-old made it clear that she doesn’t think the likes of Caitlyn Jenner and Thomas Markle Jr need any kind of platform.

Harsh! Courtney Act, 39, took a brutal swipe at Big Brother VIP’s casting during a live radio interview on Tuesday morning

‘I think Caitlin does not need platforming. I think Meghan Markle’s brother does not need platforming,’ the Australian drag queen – also known as Shane Jenek explained.

‘Let’s see what happens with Omarosa,’ she added.

Courtney said it wasn’t her intention to purposely throw shade at the contestants, rather that Channel Seven could have chosen a line-up of better talent.

‘This isn’t even me being shady because I have been one of these people. “Celebrity shows” – but I’m not actually sure about the rest of them yet,’ she laughed.

Courtney reached international stardom after landing in the top three of much-loved show Rupaul’s Drag Race in 2014.

She widened her fan base once again after she won Celebrity Big Brother in the UK in 2018.

It comes just one day after a source claimed that producers were ‘panicking’ after the show lost its ‘two biggest tickets’ in the first week.

‘Endemol Shine Australia [the production company behind Big Brother] is freaking out. They’ve lost their two biggest tickets,’ an insider told Daily Mail Australia.

‘Caitlyn is already back in the U.S. and Omarosa was sent home not long after.’

Jenner, 71, and Omarosa, 47, are believed to have only committed to a few episodes.

A Channel Seven source has since rubbished the claims, saying the series is ‘an absolute killer show in the making’ and that its cast had exceeded all expectations.

Big Brother VIP is scheduled to air on Channel Seven later this year.
