Chilling: Filming has begun on Dakota Johnson’s new film project Am I OK?

Dakota sported a clear face visor, with PPE still still being strictly enforced on sets amid the ongoing pandemic.

She looked casual in her costume – simple jeans and a baggy beige sweater.

She wore her dark locks tumbling loosely around her shoulders as she perched on a piece of film equipment and waited to get going.

The actress recently set tongues wagging after she was spotted out and about wearing a huge emerald ring on her engagement finger.

However, in costume, her dressed-down character appeared to be wearing a more traditional diamond engagement ring and wedding band set.

Dakota – who is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson – has joined the cast of the new project from directors Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne.

Also boarding the project with Johnson is Sonoya Mizuno, Jermaine Fowler, Whitmer Thomas, Molly Gordon, June Diane Raphael and Sean Hayes.

The story centers on best friends Lucy and Jane, though it’s unclear who is playing the two main characters at this time.

Both Lucy and Jane are lifelong friends who believe they know everything about one another, which is tested when Jane announces she’s leaving Los Angeles for a new job in London.

Notaro and Allynne, who have been married since 2015, will both co-direct the film from a script by Lauren Pomerantz.

Production is scheduled to begin on February 1 in Los Angeles, with financing through Erik Feig’s new company Picturestart.

‘We are honored to bring Lauren’s script to life with Tig and Stephanie at the helm,’ Feig said in a statement.

The project marks the feature directorial debut for both Notaro and Allynne, with Notaro previously directing short films, episodes of One Mississippi (which she created) and 2 Dope Queens and the 2018 comedy special Ellen Degeneres: Relatable.

Johnson actually mentioned to Ellen in a now infamous November 2019 interview that Notaro was her favorite comedian… before she corrected, ‘other than you.’

Johnson most recently starred in The High Note with Tracee Ellis Ross and Ice Cube, and The Nowhere Inn, and she’ll next be seen in The Lost Daughter.
