David Walliams wraps up in a khaki jacket as he takes his beloved pooch for a walk

He regularly shares snaps of his terriers Bert and Ernie on his Instagram page.

And David Walliams was spotted taking one of his beloved’s pooches for a walk on Thursday, as he prepared to spend Christmas Day in Tier 4 London.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 49, bundled up in a stylish khaki jacket, which he teamed with a pair of casual sweat pants and navy Nike trainers.

The comedian styled his look with a pair of sunglasses, as he kept a low-profile while strolling around his local area.

The outing comes after he declared that he hopes Simon Cowell ‘isn’t as slim’ when he returns to the Britain’s Got Talent panel next year after his electric bike accident.

The Little Britain star said he was eagerly anticipating Simon’s return to the panel but joked that he ‘looked fat’ next to the music mogul following his weight loss.

Speaking exclusively to Mailonline, he said: ‘I just hope he’s put on some weight because he was looking slim and I just looked fat next to him!

‘I think he only lost all that weight to make me look fatter when I stand next to him. But I’ll always be taller than him!’

Simon famously dropped a total of 60 pounds in 2019 after he went on a lifestyle overhaul and adopted a healthy vegan diet.

Simon has been absent from the panel this year as he recovers from breaking his back in an electric bike accident in August.

David, who is joining judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Ashley Banjo on the hit show’s Christmas special said he was looking forward to the festive day.

He said: ‘I always had a stocking as a kid, so I like to have a stocking for my son. I can eat sausage rolls at any other time of the year, but I really like to have them on Christmas Eve with some brown sauce!

‘I like to have yule log. Basically, what I look forward to most at Christmas is the food!

I don’t try to go too crazy because it’s actually not a nice feeling when you overeat, it’s actually an uncomfortable feeling!

‘It’s not nice, but I do like to have a few more treats than I normally would, like cheese, sausages wrapped in bacon and that sort of thing. I wouldn’t have that every day. I don’t go too crazy, but it does feel like a special day. Isn’t it?

David also admitted that co-judge Ashley Banjo would have got his golden buzzer, saying: ‘I was actually thinking that when I was watching both of them, I was thinking, would we actually put them through if they came on?! But I think we would, both of them. They were both fantastic.

‘I think Ashley would probably get my golden buzzer though because he’s just so extraordinary. He’ s so talented, it’s like watching a movie, it’s like you’re watching The Matrix or something, when you see him.

‘It’s dazzling. There are 100 things going on at every second. Everywhere you look on the stage, it’s amazing. So, I think he always comes back and proves why Diversity is the most enduring Britain’s Got Talent winner ever.’

All four judges are set to perform for the first time in the series’ 14-year history on the show.

Presenters Ant and Dec, both 45, meanwhile, will join the panel on stage as they transform into Christmas elves.

Alesha will captivate audiences with a rendition of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas alongside 2017 winner, pianist Tokio Myers.

Showcasing her incredible vocal range, Amanda will belt out Home for Christmas with musical theatre group and 2014 winners Collabro.

The action-packed show will also see the likes of fan favourites Ashleigh & Sully, 2019 runner-up Ben Hart and 2008 finalist Stavros Flatley return to screens.

The 2020 series concluded in October with musical comic Jon Courtenay becoming the first ever Golden Buzzer act to win the talent show.

Pianist Jon – who will return to the stage with an original Christmas song – beat runners up Steve and Sign Along With Us to the scoop the prize, and enthused of his successful stint: ‘Just amazing, I can’t believe it. Listen, thank you. You don’t know how much this means.

‘You have changed my life, my family’s life. My mum, I can’t imagine how you’re coping right now. I hope you’re still alive!’

The champion not only bagged himself a slot at the coveted Royal Variety Performance but was also awarded a whopping £250,000 for winning the hit ITV show.
