Farmer Wants a Wife’s Andrew Guthrie accuses hopeful Jess Nathan of wasting his time

Despite a tense conversation with Jess Nathan, Andrew Guthrie opted not to send anyone home on Wednesday’s episode of Farmer Wants a Wife.

The 30-year-old farmer from NSW admitted that despite his attraction to Jess, he had concerns she wasn’t prepared to give up her life in Melbourne.

Following a steamy date, where Jess, 27, admitted she didn’t know if she’d be willing to move to the farm, Andrew pulled her aside for another chat in the evening.

Despite reassuring Andrew that she did have feelings for him, Jess then added: ‘I have a lot going on at home at the moment.’

Although he confessed he was worried Jess was wasting his time, Andrew opted to keep her and the other girls around for another week.

‘I’m really happy he made that call,’ a relieved Jess confessed.

Ahead of their date earlier on, Andrew said he liked Jess because ‘she’s very genuine and honest’, and added that ‘she makes me happy’.

The couple had a successful date, which culminated in them stripping down to their swimsuits to share an outdoor rose petal bath together.

As they sipped Champagne, they exchanged a few flirtatious glances, before Jess confessed her feelings for Andrew.

They then shared a passionate kiss, but the moment proved to be short-lived after Andrew asked Jess if she could see herself moving to the farm.

‘It’s beautiful here, and I know that this is where your life is. I know this is where your family is and your work is and all your friends are. And that’s what it’s like for me in Melbourne,’ she told him.

She added: ‘It’s a big thing to ask someone to move here.’

Her candid admission prompted Andrew to question if she was serious about envisioning a future with him.

‘What I guess I’m asking is if it’s never going to happen, then why waste our time?’ he asked her.

Jess later admitted: ‘Part of me wants Andrew and this life with him, and another part of me wants my career in Melbourne, and my friends and family around me all the time.

‘They are two different worlds and I am in a bit of an inner battle, trying to figure out where I’m at.’

Jess told Andrew their relationship would involve a lot of ‘long distance’, which forced him to concede: ‘It’s probably not going to work.’

‘It feels like a really big commitment right now, and I don’t know if I’m able to say 100 per cent in six months time I’ll be here,’ she said.
