Fearne shared the post alongside scenic pictures of an evening walk with step-daughter Lola, who she captured in front of a winter sunset.

The mother-of-two, has son Rex, seven, and daughter Honey, five, with musician Jesse, 44, the son of Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie Wood.

The TV and radio star also enjoys a close relationship with Jesse’s children from his previous marriage to Tilly Wood – Arthur, 19, and Lola, 15.

In the Instagram caption, Fearne wrote about her gratitude for the ‘simple moments’ and celebrated the ‘rare’ occasion of a one-on-one walk with her teen step-daughter.

‘After a day of work I had a walk with Lola,’ she wrote. ‘It’s rare we get time with just the two of us as the two smalls are usually making a lot of noise nearby.

‘Lola is online for most of the day after having just done her mocks so fresh air was needed.’

She continued: ‘Also great appreciation for my step kids who have been in my life nearly ten years.

‘(Often people I don’t know on insta question the terminology of ‘step’ children but it works for us. Our actual relationship surpasses words anyway).’

Fearne has previously shared her thoughts on the term ‘blended family’ and once called for an end to the ‘evil stepmother’ stereotype in children’s books.

Penning a column for Red magazine last year, she said: ‘I’m not a fan of the term ‘blended family’.

‘It instantly highlights the separateness and distracts from the ‘family’ bit… I’m in one of those ‘modern’ families, and like to think of it as nothing more than a regular family.

She added: ‘We have raised the kids as siblings; there is no ‘half’ about it. Though they have different mothers, the love between them is full.’

Earlier this month, Fearne spoke about her depression in an honest interview with Angela Scanlon’s podcast, Thanks A Million,.

The mother-of-two admitted the mood disorder is part of her everyday life, and knocked her ‘work confidence’ partly leading her to leave her roles on Celebrity Juice and at BBC Radio.

She shared: ‘[Depression] is a chapter that I often in my work talk around, but not really about it because there’s so much of it that I’m still processing and still have a bit of a hangover with.

‘A lot of my work has come from that area of my life where I fell into a pretty big hole of depression and not much around me seemed to make sense.

‘I felt very isolated and very alone in my experience. It was long before I even dared use the word depression.

‘Now, it’s an everyday part of my life, whether it’s friends who know that I’ll open up about it or mostly in my work.

‘Before this point, I would never have dared talk about my mental health. I don’t think I even knew what that was.’

The podcaster hosted a mid-morning show on BBC Radio 1 from 2009 until 2015, after which she sat in for Zoe Ball on Radio 2, before quitting. Fearne was also a team captain on Celebrity Juice from 2008 until 2018.
