Furious Martha Kalifatidis blows up during radio interview and hangs up on hosts

Martha Kalifatidis blew up during an interview on Hit 103.1 FM’s Cliffo & Gabi on Tuesday after being asked how to get more Instagram followers.

The reality TV star-turned-beauty influencer, 33, was being interviewed by hosts Guy Clifton and Gabi Elgood after her exit from Celebrity Apprentice Australia on Monday night.

As the chat was about to end, Gabi asked Martha on some tips to build her Instagram following – a process the former Married At First Sight star is an expert in after acquiring more than 600,000 fans online.

However, Martha abruptly shut down the interview, leaving the radio hosts red-faced.

‘I feel like that was a deliberate hang up… Can we make a note, don’t go live with Martha,’ Cliffo awkwardly said.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Martha also blew up after being questioned about saying that ‘she probably makes your yearly wage in a month’ on the show.

Martha insisted that she said the line in jest and was just trying to add comedic value to the TV show.

‘That was just a silly funny line for TV,’ she said.

‘I copped so much s**t for saying; “Because God forbid a woman is successful, God forbid a short, chunky little Greek girl like me is successful”.

‘Like no, no, I should just be serving you in a café or taking your fish and chip order.’ she said.

All for TV: In May, Martha Kalifatidis said she makes 'most people's annual wage in a month'. However, on Tuesday, she told Hit 103.1 FM's Cliffo and Gabi, 'That was just a silly funny line for TV'

When quizzed about her edit on the show, Martha admitted she was happy with the footage she’d seen so far.

‘Sure some of us have copped the shit end of the stick, but I guess that is reality TV. It would have been nice to have seen a softer side to me!’ she explained.

‘I AM used to a bad edit, and I know what they do in the edit room… but that’s what makes good TV. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time re-watching the show.’

Martha was fired on Monday’s episode of Celebrity Apprentice Australia.

As she battled it out against Shaynna Blaze, Martha’s slip of the tongue offended Lord Sugar.

‘Can I say something? This will change my life. It will literally open so many doors,’ Martha said, when pleading her case.

‘I’m not just an influencer, I’m not just a beauty blogger, I’m not just a make-up artist, and it will give me so many opportunities,’ she added.

Advisor Janine Allis, 55, was shocked and reminded Martha that the aim of the show was actually to raise money for charity, not to raise her profile.

Lord Sugar said: ‘You have put your foot in it.  The way you’re worried about yourself rather than your charity’.

Celebrity Apprentice continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine
