Game Of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie to star with Tom Sturridge in DC Comics series The Sandman

She has starred in arguably the greatest fantasy series of all-time in Game Of Thrones.

And it looks like Gwendoline Christie is ready to conquer the comic book universe next. 

The 42-year-old actress is set to star in DC Comics series The Sandman for Netflix alongside Tom Sturridge it was announced on Thursday.

It is quite the impressive cast which also includes Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry and Sanjeev Bhaskar.

According to Deadline the series is described as ‘a rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven.

‘The Sandman the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he tries to fix all the cosmic and human mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.’

The publication also included several character descriptions including that Christie will be portraying Lucifer, the Ruler of Hell, who is the arch-nemesis of the protagonist in the series.

Sturridge, 35, is the titular character Dream who is the lord of dreaming.
