Guess who? This reality TV star recently made a name for herself on Big Brother

She features on this year’s season of Big Brother, but long before making a name for herself in reality TV this star was a blushing ’80s bride.

In a throwback photo posted to Big Brother’s Instagram page on Friday, this popular housemate showed off her very retro wedding style.

And she’s come a long way since then, featuring on two reality TV shows, one which starred her famous daughter.

It’s Mary Kalifatidis, one of this year’s Big Brother housemates and the mother of Married At First Sight’s Martha Kalifatidis.

The 56-year-old spoke about her wedding on Instagram in February, and confessed that things had changed a lot since she got engaged 34 years ago.

‘Today proposing is so much nicer, more romantic. And let’s not talk about the beautiful gowns brides wear today,’ she began.

‘Back then, Theo didn’t even propose. We were dating for five years, so obviously what comes next. What a joke, hey, I got ripped off! I want a refund…

‘Things were so different back then. We didn’t get to move in with someone and test the waters.

‘If I said that to my parents, I would be thrown in the Pacific Ocean, I would still be swimming back to shore.

‘Back then, you date, you get married you have children and that’s all folks. It’s what everyone did back then. That was the VIBE.’

She said things have gotten ‘easier’ for each generation, and joked that her mother had been ‘married at first sight’ after immigrating to Australia from Greece for an arranged marriage.

‘All I know is in total almost 40 years together. That’s two life sentences… What was I thinking?’ she continued.

‘I am the least [qualified] person to give advice, but marriage is like everything else in your life, you have to work at it. Everyone has ups and downs.’

She added: ‘Three beautiful kids later, no bloody gift, no fancy dinner, no new diamond ring, but I wouldn’t have [it] any other way.’

Meanwhile, in an interview with Daily Mail Australia in March last year, Martha, 32, spoke about turning into her mother.

‘Now when I speak to [boyfriend] Michael [Brunelli], I can hear Mary! I’m like, “Oh, I’m sorry. I’m really sorry. I don’t care. Put the f**king towel wherever you want!”‘ she joked.

‘I sound like her. And I remember growing up, I thought, “She must be really unhappy if where I put my bathroom towel really ruffles her feathers,” but now that’s me!’

She added: ‘I literally just have my mum’s voice in my head.’
