Speaking about her entry into modelling, Leni shared her famous mother’s advice about being in the public eye.
She said: ‘She’s always telling me, ‘just be true to yourself, and don’t let what other people are saying affect you or change what you’re doing. And it’s always okay to say no.’
‘My mom is always telling me to just be myself, and brush off any hate I get, and I go by that. I don’t read my comments. I think that you should just block it out. Don’t even think about it, just do what you’re there to do, and do what you want to do.

‘Don’t let anybody stand in your way and tell you what you can’t do, just be yourself.’
Heidi shares Leni with ex Flavio Briatore but her ex-husband Seal whom she was married to from 2005 to 2014, adopted her when she was just five years old.
He has continued to remain in her life amid the split and the former pair also share sons Henry, 15 and Johan, 14, and daughter Lou, 11.
She added about her first desires to pursue modelling: ‘I’ve always wanted to model, ever since I was 12 years old. It all started when I was in Brandy Melville. That was my favourite brand at the time.
Candid: She said of her mum’s advice: ‘She’s always telling me, ‘just be true to yourself, and don’t let what other people are saying affect you or change what you’re doing. And it’s always okay to say no’
‘I remember one of the girls that worked there was like ‘we would love to shoot you in our clothes’. I was freaking out because I loved the brand, and I was shopping with my mom that day so I was like ‘mom, please, I’m begging you! I’ve wanted to do this for so long. You can do it, why can’t I?’
‘She said no, and that I was too young. Ever since then I’ve been begging and begging. When I turned 16 she finally was like, ‘okay, you can model now, that’s fine.’ I’m 17 now, so for the past year I’ve been modelling, and I’ve loved it.’
Leni also discussed how she and her mother are ‘very similar’ in terms of their sense of humour but have different styles.
Stunning: Leni also discussed how she and her mother are ‘very similar’ in terms of their sense of humour but have different styles
She said: ‘I think our energy and sense of humour is very, very similar. We’ve shot covers together and worked together, and we’re always dancing around, excited to be there, and having fun. I feel like that’s very similar.
‘But we’re very different in some ways, especially in terms of style. For example, her closet is about the size of three of my rooms put together. And it’s super full, super busy, clothes everywhere, shoes everywhere, belts, purses, and glasses.
‘My closet is very empty, because I get rid of things all the time, and I’m the opposite of a hoarder. If there’s something that I wear, but I don’t think I’m going to wear again, I just give it to Goodwill.
Protective: Leni only recently began modelling and earlier this year Heidi admitted was ‘a little worried,’ and wanted her to wait until she was older
‘So my closet’s very empty and hers is packed with all different types of sparkly dresses and short little skirts. Mine is baggy, oversized, and big. I mean, my brother takes hoodies from my closet.’
Leni only recently began modelling and earlier this year Heidi admitted was ‘a little worried,’ and wanted her to wait until she was older.
‘First I was a little worried, honestly, I mean, she’s been wanting to do this for a very long time and I finally agreed,’ she told ET back in May.
‘She’s 17 years old. And I go to all of the shoots with her obviously because she’s still underage.
‘But for me, the most important thing is that she has fun. And she loves it, she enjoys it,’ adding that Leni ‘loves’ the camera.
