Pelosi was officiating the wedding of the billionaire oil heiress, 26, to photographer Tobias ‘Toby’ Engel at San Francisco City Hall on Saturday.
The 81-year-old went maskless as she pronounced the pair man and wife, and then refused to wear a face covering as she mingled closely with guests at a crowded drinks reception at Getty Mansion.
The event, which required proof of vaccination, was also attended by California Governor Gavin Newsom and San Francisco Mayor London Breed.
The pair are behind tough mask mandates, including the governor’s statewide rule for all schoolchildren.
Reason editor Liz Wolfe tweeted: ‘Gavin Newsom, London Breed, Nancy Pelosi all in attendance, hobnobbing with the maskless hordes, at this extremely posh billionaire heiress wedding. But hey, let’s make sure San Francisco’s kids mask up in schools.’

Official state guidance recommends masks in enclosed spaces, although they have been relaxed for certain indoor events where everyone is vaccinated, such as weddings with less than 100 guests.
‘People in these settings may remove their masks if the employer or host of the gathering can control access to the setting and verify 100% full vaccination of everyone in the setting,’ the guidance from the city said.
‘The employer or host must also ensure proper ventilation, no recent COVID-19 outbreaks, and children under 12 and guests are not present, among other safety measures.’
It is not clear how many people attended the Getty wedding, but at least 60 could be seen in the overhead picture of Pelosi at the packed reception.
In other photos of the wedding published by Vogue more than 100 chairs were set out for the ceremony.
In California’s most recent mask rule update in September, it said: ‘Masks are required for unvaccinated people and recommended for everyone in indoor public places, like: retail, restaurants, theaters, family entertainment centers, meetings, State and local government offices that serve the public.’

The photos of Pelosi at the wedding have again brought into focus the sharp contrast between the political and social wearing of masks by lawmakers.
The sting is sharper for the Democrats who have made face coverings a political football and are careful to wear them on Capitol Hill as they paint the Republicans as a party which is careless about Covid-19.
Newsom was notoriously photographed at a swanky restaurant last November after ordering state residents to stay home in a hard lockdown.

‘Maskless indoors when school dances across California are cancelled and kids must keep masks on 7 hours/day including outside at recess in many parts of CA including SF.’
Last month, a California judge rejected a campaign group’s request for a temporary restraining order against the state’s mask mandate for schoolchildren enforced by Governor Newsom.
San Diego County Superior Court Judge Cynthia Freeland denied the request made by the organization Let Them Breathe at a court hearing on September 30.
Let Them Breathe and Reopen California Schools filed a lawsuit against the state in July opposing the mandate.
Both groups believe that the mandate was harmful to the students and that the COVID protocols being enforced were not supported by science.
But Judge Freeland struck down their application for a restraining order against Newsom’s mandate after saying kids had been back for weeks with no issues.
‘Here we are, Sept. 30th, school has started, kids have been in school with masks and the protocols have been in place,’ Freeland said on Thursday.
‘So I’m not seeing an emergency today that would warrant issuing an emergency restraining order.’
Newsom, who has been enforcing COVID protocols, applauded Freeland and the court’s decision in a written statement.
‘We are pleased that the court agreed with our argument that blocking the continued implementation of the universal masking requirement for K-12 schools was unwarranted at this time,’ he wrote.
‘Our guidance is firmly grounded in science and has been a critical component of our efforts to support the safe return to in-person learning for all students this school year.
‘Recent studies confirm that schools with universal masking requirements are much less likely to experience outbreaks, confirming that masking is a critical strategy to keep students safe and schools open.’
Newsom announced an additional vaccine mandate for schoolchildren that Friday and said that students 12 and over must get the shot in order to attend in-person classes.
