The bizarre way I’m a Celebrity Australia is marking the place where Katie Price and Peter Andre started their relationship in 2004… after taking over the site of the British camp
And as the Australian version of the reality series begins production at the same site where the British show was filmed for almost two decades, the local crew has come up with a cheeky way to commemorate the pair’s on-screen romance.
Dr Chris Brown, one of the hosts of I’m a Celebrity Australia, has hinted there is a plaque hidden somewhere in the camp to mark the spot where Katie and Peter’s relationship first blossomed 16 years ago.
Remember this? Katie Price and Peter Andre fell in love during their stint in the jungle on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! back in 2004. And if rumours are to be believed, a tribute to the former couple is hidden somewhere in the camp in Dungay, New South Wales
During an interview with Sydney’s Daily Telegraph on Wednesday, Chris was asked about the decision to move production from South Africa – where I’m a Celebrity Australia has been filmed since 2015 – to Dungay, in New South Wales, where the British series has been held since 2003.
The move was made necessary by coronavirus travel restrictions, which also forced the British series to relocate to Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales.
‘The [Aussies] are not going to have it easy. It’s not going to be the camping trip that I thought it might be when I first heard we were going to do the show there,’ he said.
‘The Brits have found ways to really amp up the challenges that site has. And I mean, this is the very spot where Peter Andre and Jordan hooked up! There should be a plaque there…’

Iconic moment: While Chris was speaking in jest, rumours have been circulating for years that the Aussie crew have indeed hidden a ‘tribute’ to the erstwhile lovers somewhere in the camp. Pictured: Peter giving a topless Katie a back rub on I’m a Celebrity in 2004

Jordan and Katie, formerly known by her glamour modelling pseudonym Jordan, met on season three of I’m a Celebrity UK in early 2004.
Their blossoming romance became a tabloid sensation in Britain and Australia, and the couple later married at Highclere Castle, Hampshire, in September 2005.
While their relationship didn’t last – they divorced in 2009 after four years of marriage – they remain proud parents to two children, Junior, 15, and Princess, 13.
Katie, 42, recently said in an interview that she was ‘fixated’ on the Mysterious Girl singer, 47, from the moment she laid eyes on him.
She revealed: ‘I was just fixated on Pete. People saw our relationship develop.
‘Having Pete there in the jungle did make it easier because you’d fall asleep thinking of him and wake up seeing him there. If you haven’t clicked with someone in there I think it’s quite hard and lonely.
‘It was a proper love story and I think me and Pete are the only ones who had kids come out of it.’
Katie, a mother of five, is now dating former Love Island contestant Carl Woods, 31.
She told The Sun newspaper this week the couple are trying for a baby and have already copyrighted the name Price Woods.
Meanwhile, Peter is married to doctor Emily Andre (née MacDonagh), with whom he shares two children, Amelia, six, and Theo, three.
