Inside the new camp on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Inside the NEW I’m a Celebrity camp with uncomfortable bunk beds, a cave shower and an intimidating challenge area – as the show relocates from South Africa to Australia

The new season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! was filmed in Dungay, in rural NSW, after relocating from South Africa due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

And it seems the famous campmates, including the likes of Grant Denyer, Abbie Chatfield and Jack Vidgen, really did rough it on set.

From sleeping in bunk beds to having to wash in an open cave and facing their worst fears in the challenge area, here are all the details of the new Aussie camp.

While they may be used to staying in luxury accommodation, this year’s stars are now facing some genuinely rugged conditions.

Upon his arrival at the camp on Sunday’s episode, Gold Logie-winning TV presenter Grant Denyer couldn’t believe his eyes.

‘This place is kind of like a five-star eco retreat, but without the retreat or the five stars,’ he said.

He was no doubt shocked to see the flimsy, uncomfortable bunk beds, with several stars saying on day two they’d had a sleepless night.

The celebrities also lacked privacy, and had to bathe in an open cave-style shower while filming the show in November last year.

Grant couldn’t believe the set-up, saying it was ‘nude city’.

The stars entered the camp by skydiving into Clarrie Hall Dam, about 15 kilometres south-west of Murwillumbah.

Channel 10 announced that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the show had to relocate from the South African jungle to rural NSW this season.
