The singer, 29, took to Instagram on Thursday to tell his followers he was feeling ‘tired and anxious’ as he negotiates the divorce ‘without holding onto unhealthy feelings of resentment and betrayal’.

In a lengthy post, Jack wrote on his Instagram stories: ‘I need to reset. I’m tired and anxious all the time. I’m trying to work viciously on new music, trying to get through a divorce without holding onto unhealthy feelings of resentment and betrayal.’

Jack and Sarah met while she was interning at a London record label.

They tied the knot in Southwark Street in the capital and had their reception at OMEARA, a live music venue near London Bridge.

And the musician said he also felt pressure of shows in the diary getting moved and being ‘told by those who expect more from me that my efforts are disappointing’.

Jack continued: ‘I, like millions of us am exhausted. I can only do this. Express the ways in which I am tried, I desperately want to do more.

‘Tell me how you’re tired. Let’s reset together and reactivate our fight before the weekend.’

As Jack’s followers sent in messages of why they’re tired, he responded that he ‘hopes to get a little fight back’.

The singer also touched upon his mental health after one fan told Jack he had felt therapy was ‘pointless’.

Jack responded: ‘The fight we give ourselves in a world that sees poor emotional help as a custom feature we somehow chose in the womb. I feel this’.

Last year, Jack spoke about how Sarah supported him during the darkest moment of his life, when he contemplated suicide.

Speaking on stage from his two-month tour, to promote second album, Love, Death and Dancing, the Weathered singer said he had always had a voice in his head who ‘didn’t like him’.

Jack admitted that things came to a head during a trip to New York with his then fiancée, (now estranged wife), Sarah.

He said: ‘We had a great time. We were enjoying the perks of the life that comes with doing this and we returned home feeling full. But then, the silence was deafening.

‘I was so taken with this moment, within the joy that I was feeling; that still, despite that, the voice returned, and I have to give it credit, the arrow was able to find a way through it all and hit me, directly, square between the eyes.

Difficult: Jack said the voice in his head told him 'he should kill himself' despite having had a wondeful trip to New York with Sarah as he detailed his journey to learn to like himself

‘I just broke down. No love for myself existed in that moment. I had no love for my wife, or my family. It was just all self-loathing.”

‘And the voice said something that it has never said before and thank goodness, it has never said again since that day.

‘It said, “you should kill yourself, but you won’t do it, because you are a coward”.’

He continued: ‘That night, my wife was amazing and she took care of me and picked me up off the floor.’

The musician has been vocal about having therapy, but said it has by no means resolved his mental health issues.

He said: ‘For me, it is cyclical. I made mistakes last year and I will make mistakes in the future,’ but stressed he was feeling much better about himself.

He said: ‘The world knows of three of them and it doesn’t know who I am.

‘It screwed me completely, I got put into a corner where I had to defend myself for winning awards that I didn’t ask for.’

He also admitted that his self-loathing meant that he didn’t used to enjoy playing his first album as much as he does today. But he’s happy and proud of his latest work.

He said : 'I have realised if I like the positive things about myself, I also have to learn to like the things I don't love about myself' (pictured 2020)
