Joel Creasey made a sartorial statement as he stepped out for lunch in Bondi on Saturday.

Joined by male friend Matt Wood, the comedian, 30, was spotted strutting through the trendy Sydney suburb in a pair of quirky plaid trousers and orange sunglasses.

He completed his off-beat look with a partially-unbuttoned dress shirt, colourful sneakers and a series of silver rings.

Joel and Matt looked to be in good spirits as they chatted and made their way down the footpath together.

Later, the duo enjoyed a meal and drinks at Totti’s restaurant in Bondi, with Joel sharing a photo of his drink and the menu to Instagram Stories.

The outing came days after Joel received the Best Newcomer On-Air award at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards.

Joel joined Kate Ritchie and Tim Blackwell on Nova’s Kate, Tim & Joel drive show a year ago.

The funnyman replaced radio stalwart Marty Sheargold, who had been hosting Nova’s drive show since 2014.

While Joel is no stranger to performing on stage, he did have some initial anxieties about taking his talents to the airwaves.

‘In the first few weeks, I stressed over the show so much,’ he told B&T.

‘I used to come home, and really stress about things, and now I’ve realised, you wake up every day and it’s a brand new show, no one cares nearly as much as you do.’
