Johnny Ruffo’s girlfriend Tahnee Sims has given fans an update on his brain cancer battle as he continues to fight the disease for a second time.

On Wednesday, Tahnee shared a photo to Instagram of the former Home and Away actor, 33, receiving treatment in hospital.

In the image, Johnny is pictured smiling while sitting in a hospital chair during his chemotherapy treatment.

It comes after the pop star shared a picture as he enjoyed a two week break from treatment.

‘Got a two week break from treatment, Had to go and see Nonna… It’s been far too long. Talk about a food coma,’ he wrote.

In the photograph, Johnny appeared to be in good spirits as he was seen holding up bottle of orange juice in one hand and glass in the other.

The soap star was surrounded by an array of food including pasta dishes, cheese, bread and olive oil spread.

Johnny – whose girlfriend Tahnee Sims has been by his side throughout his battle – revealed the heartbreaking news he was once again fighting brain cancer on November 24.

‘After an unexpected week of seizures and excruciating headaches it is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know I now have another huge battle ahead of me as my brain cancer has returned,’ he wrote on Instagram.

Johnny was first diagnosed with the disease in 2017 after he went to hospital with painful migraines.

In August of the same year, he had a 7cm brain tumour surgically removed, before undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Johnny rose to fame on talent show The X Factor in 2011, where he placed third. He later portrayed Chris Harrington on Home and Away from 2013 to 2016.
