Kristen Bell joins upcoming wedding comedy also starring Allison Janney and Ben Platt
Kristen Bell has joined a wedding comedy also featuring Allison Janney and Ben Platt.
The 40-year-old actress and Platt, 27, will portray the children of Janney, 61, in the film The People We Hate At The Wedding, according to an article Thursday by The Hollywood Reporter.
Amazon Studios has partnered with FilmNation to produce the movie adapted from the 2017 novel of the same name by Grant Ginder.

Claire Scanlon will direct the comedy with a script by Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin and Wendy Molyneux, best known for their work on the cartoon series Bob’s Burgers.
The People We Hate At The Weddings centers on struggling American siblings Alice, played by Bell, and Paul, portrayed by Platt, who attend a wedding along with their mother, played by Janney, of their estranged, rich half-sister in the English countryside.
Principal photography has been scheduled to begin in September in London.
Amazon and FilmNation previously have teamed up on the comedies The Big Sick and Late Night as well as the young adult romance The Map Of Tiny Perfect Things.

Also starring: Platt, shown in March 2016 in New York City, will play the brother of Bell’s character in the wedding comedy
Bell recently starred in the comedy The Good Place on NBC for four seasons.
The Gossip Girl reboot that debuted on HBO Max also features Bell as the narrator.
She can next be seen on the big screen along with Kirby Howell-Baptiste in the film Queenpins that opens in theaters in September.

Bell has been married since since 2013 to actor Dax Shepard, 46, and they have daughters Lincoln, eight, and Delta, six, together.
The Michigan native is best known for her starring role in the TV series Veronica Mars and for providing the voice of Princess Anna in Disney’s Frozen franchise.
Bell also has been cast in the upcoming musical Molly And The Moon also starring Jonathan Groff, 36.
