Lily Allen cuts casual figure in simple white T-shirt and jeans as she takes break from social media

She often gives her social media followers an insight into her day-to-day activities and stylish outfits on Instagram. 

And Lily Allen shared snap of herself cutting a casual figure in a simple white T-shirt and jeans combination on Instagram on Sunday. 

It comes as the singer, 36, revealed she is taking a break from social media to focus on preparing for her upcoming play 2:22 A Ghost Story.

The mother-of-two looked chic as she posed in front of a mirror pulling a silly face. 

She donned a plain white T-shirt which she had tucked into a pair of blue high-waist wide-leg jeans. 

To accessorise the look, she added a pair of leopard print Nike Air Max 97s, which, when available, retailed at around £130. 

She had thrown her hair up into a messy bun and wore several items of jewellery, including what appeared to be a Cartier LOVE bracelet, which cost around £5,600.

Talking on her Instagram Stories in an American accent later in the day, Lily explained she was taking a break from social media.

She said; ‘So I start rehearsals for my play tomorrow and I’m gonna try and not be on my phone so much. 

‘So I’m going to take photos and send them to my manager and he’s going to upload them onto Instagram so keep leaving messages and liking my pictures.

‘I’m going to try and really focus on my role but I’m going to miss you guys. Love you guys, thanks for your support. 

‘I’ll probably be back here in like 48 hours when I realise I can’t live without it.’

Lily is set to hit the stage at the Noël Coward Theatre, in London, from August 3, starring as Jenny in 2:22 a Ghost Story.

Her character thinks her new home is haunted but her husband Sam, played by Hadley Fraser, doesn’t believe her. 

The play also stars Julia Chan and and Eastenders star Jake Wood, who played Max Branning in the soap. 

Described as an ‘edge-of-your-seat, supernatural thriller, the play is written by Danny Robbins, who hosts The Battersea Poltergeist podcast, and directed by Matthew Dunster.

It comes after Lily appeared to be heading back to the UK on Tuesday after spending several months in New York supporting her husband David Harbour and her two children, daughters Ethel, nine, and Marnie, eight, whom she shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper.

David had high praise for his wife Lily as they appeared together at the premiere of his latest movie, No Sudden Move.

After posing for photos, he gushed to Page Six: ‘I’m in awe of her’. 

‘I think she’s a remarkable, extraordinary woman and beautiful, talented, lovely, caring, but you know for some strange reason she also seems to think a lot about me so it seems to work.’ 

The couple tied the knot in Las Vegas in September 2020 after dating for about a year, and they now live together in the UK with the singer’s two daughters. 

Of his life in London, David confessed that his humour doesn’t always translate well across the pond.

‘I don’t think they quite understand me there, I think in America I have a lot more leeway for someone of my goofiness,’ he explained. 

‘They have their own brand of goofy which is in its snark and wit, these are generalizations but. yeah it’s not my brand, I think they find my brand a little boorish, that’s alright, I’m not for all markets.’
