Lukas Gage reacts as casting director insults his apartment on Zoom

Lukas Gage was one of several young actors to showcase their talent on the HBO teen drama Euphoria.

But the California-born actor is still navigating the cutthroat audition scene, amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.

He had the perfect response Friday to a casting director who casually insulted the actor’s apartment during a Zoom audition, after he apparently forgot to put his mic on mute.

Cool under pressure: Euphoria star Lukas Gage had the perfect response Friday to a casting director who casually insulted the actor’s apartment during a Zoom audition, after he apparently forgot to put his mic on mute

The 25-year-old took to Instagram with the quick clip, writing: ‘psa: if youre a s*** talking director make sure to mute ur mic on zoom mtgings’

He can be seen in a white sleeveless t-shirt, standing in his living room, with a flatscreen TV visible over his shoulder.

‘These poor people live in these tiny apartments, like I’m looking at his background, and he’s got his TV and you know…’ the director could be heard on the other side, as Gage reacted with a cringe face, telling him: ‘Yeah, unmuted.’

The American Vandal actor added: ‘I know, it’s a s****y apartment. That’s why [you should] give me this job, so I can get a better one.’

‘Oh my god, I am so, so sorry… I’m mortified,’ the director said in embarrassment, as Gage lightened the mood: ‘Listen, I’m living in a four-by-four box. It’s fine, just give me the job, and we’ll be fine.’

He received an outpouring of praise from friends and fellow actors who’ve experienced similar situations with casting directors.
