Made In Chelsea’s Ollie Locke ‘marries his boyfriend Gareth’

Ollie Locke has reported tied the knot with his boyfriend Gareth in a secret wedding.

According to Hello! magazine, the couple decided to move their wedding date forward so they could marry before the new coronavirus restrictions took hold on Thursday.

The pair had trouble trying to get married amid the current restrictions with Ollie revealing on Instagram they were still ‘determined’ to marry this year.

He wrote: ‘We have had to postpone the wedding twice…and it has been a nightmare, but we are determined to get married this year in whatever way we can and to end 2020 in the way we want 2021 to begin…exceptionally magical, full of love and with a huge amount of white hydrangeas!’

Ollie and Gareth became engaged in 2018 when Gareth popped the question by the Peter Pan statue in Kensington Park Gardens.

In September 2018, Southampton native Olllie took to Instagram to share an announcement from The Times revealing he was set to tie the knot to ‘someone who makes me smile like this every day!’

They first met more than ten years ago when they were models in a fashion show for designer Jade Holland Cooper.

Speaking previously to Hello!, Ollie said: ‘I thought Gareth was The One very early on. I was pretty sure this was something that would be for the rest of my life.’

The reality star also said that the couple would join their surnames together, saying: ‘We are going to be Locke-Locke. I like the idea that his family and my family will be joined together.’

It comes after Ollie recently revealed he was turned away from his dream wedding venue as it refuses to host gay nuptials.

On Monday’s Made In Chelsea, the reality star admitted he was left ‘upset’ at the decision as he declared: ‘We’ve obviously fought for so many years for all of this.’

Although same-sex marriage is legal in all parts of the United Kingdom, gay unions are currently not permitted in the Church of England.

During a conversation with co-star Sophie Hermann, the businessman said: ‘We had this idea of getting married in this beautiful church.

‘We found this beautiful church and like going through the process of actually having a wedding there how are we going to do it and then we found out that basically we can’t actually get married there. They don’t do gay marriages.

‘Obviously I must admit that was the most upset I’d been for a long time because it kind of, we’ve obviously fought for so many years for all of this, and we’re so delighted that it’s now a legal situation that we are allowed to get married and we wanted to celebrate that.

‘For someone to literally turn around and say, ”you can’t I’m afraid, we’ll give you a blessing”.’
