This is the shocking moment a male straphanger slapped a woman in the face on a New York City subway train.

The incident occurred on the Brooklyn-bound R Train at 12.10am on Friday morning, near Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street Station in downtown Brooklyn.  

In the cellphone footage, a 34-year-old female victim can initially be seen telling the male suspect to stop ‘filming every woman in the car,’ as she was simultaneously being recorded by a bystander. 

The male suspect responds, repeating to her: ‘I ain’t filming you, I ain’t filming you,’ before telling her: ‘You know what? You’re going to get yourself in trouble ’cause I’m not playin’ with you.’

At the end of the video, the unidentified man can be seen looking left and right, leaning back before he strikes the woman unexpectedly

A man and a 34-year-old woman got into a verbal altercation after she accused him of filming every woman in the subway car going to downtown Brooklyn. The man repeatedly told the woman not to get involved, before hauling off and slapping her, injuring her nose and face

The suspect tells the woman ‘it ain’t none of your business’ and the yelling becomes louder. 

He then appears to look around the car, before slapping the woman in the face. 

The suspect fled upon arrival at the Court Street station.

He was reportedly seen leaving the subway station, wearing a green beanie and an Adidas hoodie under a black jacket with dark-colored pants.

The victim, who remains unknown, was left with pain and swelling to her face and nose. She refused to seek medical attention that was offered to her. 

Her glasses were also broken. 

It is unclear if the victim and the aggressor knew each other. Dailymail.com has contacted the NYPD for comment.

Felony assaults are up a whopping nine percent, with robberies up almost five percent and reports of rape up two percent.

Shocking subway crimes have gone up in the past year. 

Earlier this month, a man was left bloodied after a brutal attack on the northbound platform of the 49th Street station, which serves the city’s N and R trains.

The victim suffered obvious injuries to his head and was pictured sitting on the train station floor with bandages covering his eyes and forehead.

His attacker, a bald man wearing jeans, black boots and a black trench coat, appeared to smirk at the camera as he was guided in to the back of the police cruiser.

Police are also hunting for a man who allegedly threatened to kill a woman on the New York subway with two wooden spikes after making ‘anti-white statements’ late last month.

The suspect wielded the large shivs at a 46-year-old woman near the 59th Street subway station in Manhattan on last Monday, cops said.

The man, who has an ankh hieroglyphic symbol on his face, was traveling on the subway at 7.20am on the 4 train on November 29.
