Margot Robbie not named in Producers Guild Awards nominations for her movie Promising Young Woman

Margot Robbie is not named in Producers Guild Awards nominations for her movie Promising Young Woman … amid rules limiting nominees to three

Margot Robbie was not listed as a nominee for the 2021 Producers Guild Awards, in which her film Promising Young Woman was nominated.

The Australian actress/producer, 30, and her husband Tom Ackerley, 31, were both producers on the project, but not among the ones named amid rules that limit the names of producers nominated for the honors.

The film’s writer-director Emerald Fennell was named as well as Josey McNamara, Ben Browning and Ashley Fox as the nominations for the category Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures award were named.

Other producers not listed for the PGA Awards, according to the film’s iMDb listing, include the film’s star Carey Mulligan, as well as Glen Basner, Alison Cohen, Fiona Walsh Heinz and Milan Popelka.

The limited number of nominees is as result of the limited number allowed by PGA rules.

‘The PGA shall, in accordance with the 93rd Annual Academy Awards of Merit, designate three or fewer producers as eligible nominees, though it reserves the right to name any additional qualified producer as a nominee,’ the organization’s rules state.
