Mark Hoppus smiles as he rocks bald head and wishes fans a happy Fourth Of July from ‘the Cancer Haver’

  • Hoppus, 49, appeared to be celebrating Independence Day from home
  • He revealed in June that he had been diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and had been undergoing chemotherapy treatments since March
  • His July 4 post appears to be the first time he has shown off his bald head — a side effect of his chemo — since beginning treatment
  • So far, he has not revealed what kind of cancer he has or what stage it is at
  • ”It sucks and I’m scared,’ Hoppus previously wrote in a statement

He revealed late last month that he had been undergoing chemotherapy treatments for cancer since March.

But Blink-182 frontman Mark Hoppus looked optimistic and happy on Sunday as he celebrated the Fourth of July.

The 49-year-old singer and bassist seemed to be comfortable with his new bald look even as he cheekily wished his fans a happy holiday from ‘the Cancer Haver.’

Best wishes: Blink-182 frontman Mark Hoppus, 49, wished his fans a happy Fourth of July from ‘the Cancer Haver’ shortly after revealing his diagnosis. He seemed comfortable showing off his bald head

Mark was seated outdoors on a semicircular bench and didn’t seem to mind revealing his new bald look, a side effect of his chemo treatments.

He wore a black ‘Los Angeles -vs- Everybody’ T-shirt white black shorts, as well as classic black sunglasses.

‘The Cancer Haver wishes you all a very happy Fourth of July weekend,’ he wrote, while showing off a soft smile.

The punk rocker was presumably celebrating at home, as he revealed days earlier that he can’t leave his home except for medical treatments due to his low white blood cell count.

Even though he hasn’t looked as energetic as he did prior to beginning treatment, Mark gave his followers on Twitch an optimistic update last week.

The What’s My Age Again? singer shared that he was ‘feeling much better’ during a game of Blinko benefiting Children’s Hospital LA.

‘I went for a walk, and I had a decent breakfast, and I haven’t felt like I was going to throw up today, so we’ll take it as a win.’

He added that he was feeling considerably less nauseated than he had felt during his previous round of chemo treatments.

‘I’ve actually, like, watched movies and walked around and cleaned the house and hung out with my dogs,’ he said with a smile.

‘Then I didn’t just feel like a poisoned electrified zombie leaned up against an electric fence like I did the rest, the past couple of rounds.’
