Before landing his current role Matt was meant to be on Clare Crowley’s season of The Bachelorette before filming was halted last March over the COVID-19 pandemic.

In fact Matt has revealed that the nomination for him to go on The Bachelorette came from Tyler’s mother Andrea who succumbed to a brain aneurysm last year.
Tyler had already become a reality star on The Bachelorette in 2019 and even though he did not win he parlayed his fame into a modeling career.
‘She would be happy to know that I followed through with it,’ Matt told Entertainment Tonight last March before The Bachelorette shoot was shut down.
‘She had nominated me and I think she saw everything that it did for Tyler and the way that he had changed as a man, and me being his roommate and being one of her sons, I think that she wanted something like that for myself.’
