On being out of her comfort zone during the TV appearance, the reality star said: ‘I feel very naked right now. For me it’s not ideal to go on live tv with no makeup. I feel more confident with makeup like any other girl.

‘[But this], I’m thinking of the younger generation. They look at picture perfect stuff on social media. But we have glam teams and filters.’

The Ann Summers ambassador went on to highlight the importance of teaching her future children about self-acceptance amid the ease of access to filters and surgery.

Maura explained: ‘We should also show the natural side, we all have blemishes and get the odd spot now and again.

‘I’ve always been quite confident, it comes from from my mammy. She brought us up saying be yourself. And you should only care about the people in your life, not trolls.’
