The Love Island star, 26, spoke candidly about her time on the X-rated subscription site during her You Come First podcast with Scarlett Howard on Friday.
Elsewhere in their tell-all chat, Megan also claimed: ‘Men love a sexy woman but as soon as she takes ownership… you’re a s**t, you’re gonna go down the porn avenue.’
Candid: Megan Barton Hanson has revealed that her having an account on OnlyFans has been used against her in breakups in the past and claimed that men don’t like ‘sexy women’ making money from their looks in her podcast You Come First
During their conversation Scarlett and Megan discussed how mens’ opinions on them can change once they realise they’re making money off racy pictures.
Scarlett said: ‘Men are happy with you being sexy if you’re not making money from it. They’re more than happy to follow us when we’re posting bikini pictures but as soon as they realise we’re making money from it, we’re sl**s.’
Quick to agree, Megan replied: ‘That is so true. Isn’t it strange, men love a sexy woman but as soon as she takes ownership of herself and tries to capitalise on it they’re like you’re such a s**t, you’re gonna go down the porn avenue.’
The duo also reflected on how their modelling work has impacted on relationships and in some cases even been used against them.

Megan said: ‘I struggle, being in a relationship and having a stripper and web cam model background, it has been something that’s come up and they kind of used it against me.’
Scarlett said she had experienced something similar, saying that although one of her previous partners at first thought she was ‘an amazing businesswoman’ they soon started to feel jealous of the attention she was giving to the OnlyFans account.
She said: ‘And I’m like it’s my job. I’m not flirting, I’m just replying to messages.. it’s so PG… It’s his insecurity and it was used against me at the end.
‘For me OnlyFans is the best thing that ever happened to me. I’ve got an issue where I can’t work a normal job… I don’t know what I’d do without it.’
Work: Scarlett discussed how she’s also had problems in relationships while on OnlyFans as some partners can become jealous of her paying so much attention to the app
Megan and Scarlett also discussed how they’re now being ‘smart’ and making money off of semi-nude content as there’s already pictures on the internet of them.
The reality star also revealed that looking back, she might have made a few different choices about the work she did pre Love Island.
She said: ‘It’s something I’m gonna have to live with, when I shot them pictures and was a web cam model, I never would have done it if I knew I was going on a massive show and was going to be a role model for younger girls.
‘But that is part and parcel of who I am and I have to live with that. So when I go on OnlyFans and do half the stuff I used to and people are still bashing me, I’m like I can’t win!’
Megan soared to fame on the 2018 series of Love Island where she coupled up with ex-boyfriend Wes Nelson. They split in January 2019 after just six months together.

During lockdown, she launched her OnlyFans account and has since made the site’s top 10 celebrity rich list. She is believed to make up to £800,000 a month.

Megan shared a video after she had her make-up professionally applied by beautician Emma Chloe in 2018 with her locks dyed a peroxide blonde.
Reflecting on her journey since, the model penned: ‘I saw this video come up from two years ago, I didn’t even recognise myself.
‘I mean my makeup looks insane and obviously it’s me but I look so sad and broken. So I wanted to share two things with you;
‘1) People put on a front. Checking in on your friends and family. Especially the most outwardly happy, wealthy, loud, successful and strong ones. They can be the best at masking their mental health because they are “the strong one”.

‘2) Just a gentle reminder to love yourself especially through the dark times. When you can’t see things getting better anytime soon, I promise they will.
‘Life and your mental health are journeys, constant ups and downs but the highs are so much more special when you’ve pulled yourself out of that low,’ followed by a heart emoji.’
Megan also sweetly added that she is now ‘glowing on the inside too’, she added: ‘@emmachloebeautyx I can’t wait to see you again, now I’m glowing on the inside too!’ followed by a smiling emoji.
The reality star finished her message with: ‘That got soo deeep but yeah shocked me to see how sad I looked and if my rambling resonated with even a few of you that’s the goal xx.’
