Meghan King is newly divorced and says she ‘fully supports’ ex Jim Edmonds’ new relationship

Meghan King and Jim Edmonds may have only finalized their divorce just days ago, but she’s already opened up about the ‘energetic closure,’ following two years of separation.

And despite their messy split, the former Orange County Housewife, 36, says that she ‘fully supports’ her ex’s new relationship with Kortnie O’Connor.

Chalking it up to what’s ‘best’ for their three children, Meghan stated that she ‘fully, fully supports,’ any ‘committed relationship’ Jim has that would provide more ‘stability’ for their kids.

In full support: Meghan King, 36, finalizes her divorce from Jim Edmonds, 50, following two years of separation and said she ‘fully supports’ his new relationship

‘I would feel that stability for my children is what I care about the most. So any kind of long-term committed relationship that Jim is in, I fully, fully support because that’s absolutely the best for my children,’ she told Us Weekly on Friday, May 21.

Despite now publicly coming out in support of Edmonds’ relationship with O’Connor — a former friend of hers who they allegedly had a threesome with — she had previously spoken out about being upset by not getting a heads-up about the pair’s budding relationship.

‘I find out that when he goes to Cabo for a birthday party, to my understanding, he takes this girl with him,’ she said on her Intimate Knowledge podcast. ‘The threesome girl. … This girl, who I thought was my friend. I cast aside my [discomfort] with threesomes. And then this girl.’

And though Jim fired back that they had ‘more than a few’ threesomes throughout their relationship, Meghan maintained: ‘We only had one threesome and only once during our marriage and that was with his current girlfriend.’

Despite any previous bad blood, Meghan continued to say that it was about what’s best for their three children — Aspen, four, and twin sons Hart and Hayes, two.

‘I was a stepmom and I’ve always been the school of thought that the more people to love children the better. And I don’t think that there’s a limited capacity for children to be able to be loved,’ she added.

‘It’s not like they could only be loved by mommy and daddy. I don’t think that takes away my love for them if they’re going to love somebody else. So I think it’s great.’

Meghan married Edmonds, 50, in 2014, and just five years later the former MLB baseball player filed for divorce.

And at the time of their breakup she accused him of having an affair with their nanny Carly Wilson, but both denied the affair.

‘It’s one thing to be accused of something. It’s another thing to be so negligent and so careless, and ruin the lives of innocent young people, I did not sleep with our nanny,’ he maintained.

Prior to that he was said to have sent inappropriate text messages to a woman while Meghan was pregnant with their twin sons.

He also denied having physical contact with that woman saying: ‘At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact. Absolutely none. This is someone trying to profit from my name.’

After the couple officially split, a nasty custody battle ensued and she made claims in April of last year that she ‘barely’ received enough child support for groceries, but his rep fired back that he has gone ‘above and beyond and was paying ‘three times the amount of child support required by court guidelines.’

‘If what Jim is giving to Meghan each month for child support doesn’t cover her groceries, she must be getting her eggs from Faberge. Jim also pays every single bill for both of her homes, all the medical bills and practically every other expense related to the kids and the houses. Jim continually goes above-and-beyond what he is required to do,’ his camp maintained.

From there they were said to be warring over custody of their kids amid the Coronavirus pandemic in April with things raging on through August as he tried to get full custody after accusing her of leaving the kids on numerous occasions.

Meghan additionally contested the terms of their prenuptial agreement.  But with all that in the rear view, Megan says it ‘feels good’ to be divorced.

‘I feel the same as I did before it was finalized. I think it’s, like, an energetic closure, which is important, but I mean, I’ve been learning how to be independent ever since we separated, ever since the divorce was filed, and so that’s almost, I guess, a year and a half now. So it just — it feels good.’

Meghan moved on to date Christian Schauf but they split in November 2020 after six months together. She confirmed her relationship with a friend-turned-lover by the name of Will Roos in January.
