NeNe Leakes says she’s had ‘good days and bad days’ following the death of her husband Gregg Leakes from colon cancer at 66 earlier this month.

Leakes, 53, took to Instagram Stories on Thursday to update fans on how she’s been handling things in the week since the family tragedy.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star noted that she was sporting a new blonde mane amid the times of change.

‘Now that I’m having to adjust to my new life, my new normal, I thought I’d go back blond,’ the reality star said, noting the strong support system she has in place amid the difficult times.

‘I have a whole group of people that’s coming to my house every day doing different stuff with me, trying to keep my mind off of, you know, the events that recently happened,’ she said. ‘Love you guys, OK, and I’m pushing through with the blond wig on.’

Leakes said she’s been taking it day-by-day following the death of Gregg at the family’s Georgia home.

‘I have good days and bad days but they say it’s normal,’ she said, ‘so some days I’m up, some days I’m down.’

She continued: ‘I normally don’t go to the salon, I usually let people come to my house, so today I decided to drive to the salon and sit in the salon with other women and that was good, to be around other people.’

She noted that she’s been ‘pushing through,’ adding, ‘Thank you for all of the condolences and all of the sweet comments, thank you.’

The couple, who share son Brentt, 22, first married in 1997 before a 2010 separation and 2011 divorce, with a reconciliation and remarriage in 2013.

Family friend and rep Ernest Dukes announced the sad news in a statement: ‘After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife Nene Leakes.’

Gregg had battled stage 3 colon cancer since 2018, and it had been in remission until 2020. After his cancer returned he had a six-week stint in a hospital following surgery.
