Nick Jonas says he feels ‘really fortunate to have’ wife Priyanka Chopra as his ‘muse’ as he covers L’Officiel

Nick Jonas feels ‘really fortunate to have’ wife Priyanka Chopra as his ‘muse.’

The pop star, 28, opened up about his life and art in a moody new cover shoot for L’Officiel‘s May 2021 issue.

‘I’m not shy about admitting that’s the source of a lot, if not all of my inspiration when I’m writing,’ Jonas, who released his solo album Spaceman in March, said.

Inspired: Nick Jonas said he’s ‘fortunate’ to have wife Priyanka Chopra as his muse while covering the new issue of L’Officiel

‘I feel really fortunate to have that muse and that support propels me to continue to write; it’s omnipresent for me,’ he went on.

Because of Jonas and Chopra’s busy professional lives, they relish in the time they can spend together, making the pair seem inseparable.

‘We’re together as much as we can be to bank as much time for those moments when we know that we inevitably have to be apart,’ said the former Disney star, who was interviewed in London while Priyanka was shooting Citadel, a Russo brothers’ spy series for Amazon Prime.

Though inspired by a deep love, his single Spaceman failed to connect with fans or go big on the Billboard charts, with one Buzzfeed critic pointing out the old adage about happiness being a recipe for bad art.

‘Are they saying that the album is bad because I’m happy?’ he asked writer Trey Taylor.

‘I’ve had success for quite a long time. Anyone is entitled to their own opinion of my art or something I have done—if they think it’s bad, I’d love to hear why.

‘And not because they think that I’m happy, that seems like a pretty asinine way to say that.’

‘Never take advice from the people you don’t respect, right? From those people, there certainly wouldn’t be a thing where they would say this isn’t good and the reason is because you are happy.’

‘That’s an interesting question,’ he said. ‘It’s most artists’ dream to be respected and be awarded by their peers. In some ways, I feel like I have been. In others, I don’t.

‘I’m not going to assume that’s because they don’t get [my work], but perhaps I need to get better and push the envelope, push myself.’

‘I don’t think I’m underrated, I’ve got room to grow and get better every day.’
