A South Australia Police spokesperson confirmed the incident to Daily Mail Australia.
The social media drama resulted in a ‘verbal argument’ between the pair in their hotel suite, with police eventually forced to separate them into different rooms.
The couple break-up comes after Nick confessed that his ‘sexual frustration’ left him too ‘horny’ to play tennis.
The controversial star was brutally upfront about how playing on the international circuit for months at a time saw him disconnect with family and loved ones on the latest episode of his new podcast, No Boundaries.

Kyrgios also admitted relationship woes caused by being apart from girlfriends affected his on-court performance.
‘When you’re trying to perform at the highest level, you start missing someone like emotionally, physically and it becomes a sexual frustration.
‘With my first girlfriend, I was away from her for six months at a time,’ he said.
‘I’m on court and I can’t play because I’m a bit horny if you know what I mean.
‘It doesn’t matter if you’re in an office job. If you’re not seeing you’re significant other, it affects you, your work, your mood, everything.
‘I was the moodiest mother****** when I was away from from my missus for that long.’
