Nicole Kidman reveals she and husband Keith Urban never finished high school – but shares one of her very first jobs that led her to acting

Australian actress Nicole Kidman might be one of the most successful stars in Hollywood.

But the 54-year-old actress revealed that despite her success and critical acclaim, she never finished high school.

Speaking to Kyle Sandilands for KIIS FM in a chat that aired on Tuesday, Nicole said she only completed school up to year 11.

The Undoing star also revealed that one of her very first jobs was as an usherette at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre.

The admission came after shock jock Kyle Sandilands, 50, said he doesn’t think he has what it takes to be an actor after talking about her new film, Being the Ricardos.

‘I haven’t got what it takes to be an actor. I don’t have the brains, I didn’t even finish year 10, I can’t intake all that rubbish,’ he said, in reference to learning lines and becoming a character.

Nicole quipped: ‘I didn’t finish year 11 and I somehow got there, are we allowed to say there?’

‘We got through on a wing and a prayer!’ Kyle added.

Nicole went on to say that her rocker husband Keith Urban, 54, didn’t even finish year 10.

‘I don’t think Keith finished year 10 either. But we shouldn’t be putting that out there, it’s not a good promotion,’ she said with a chuckle.

Speaking about her job as an usherette, she said it was a ‘good gig’.

‘It’s a good gig. You got a bit of cash and you were in the theatre,’ she explained.

She has since gone on to become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, known for films including Eyes Wide Shut, Moulin Rouge! and Australia.

Nicole attended North Sydney Girls’ High School, where she met fellow actress Naomi Watts, 53.

Speaking about her bond with Nicole, Naomi previously told People magazine in 2017: ‘We’ve gone through a lot together over a significant amount of time. That history binds you.’

‘We have a strong respect and love for one another. If you hang out with us, you’ll have fun. I’ll promise you that.’
